Covid Close To You

Had a pretty rough Covid awakening for myself this past couple weeks. Wife works at a preschool so she has a higher level of exposure but so far her, myself, and our one year old have evaded it. Wife started to have scratchy throat, stuffy nose, General fatigue last Tuesday. Next day I’m climbing and my gear feels like a thousand pounds. Yet one more day, I have the same symptoms and we discover my wife tested positive. All of a sudden, 1/3 of her preschool is closed due to Covid with more rooms slowly closing. Omecron for sho. We are both vaccinated, no boosters. Overall, it wasn’t dangerous but I understand how it could be as we have all been totally laid out since. Shoveling my driveway for 15 minutes had me frickin floored, so tired lol. Wouldn’t want to pass it to my diabetic brother. Be safe friends.
 
Holy crap…. Sounds like the medical world is not unlike the arborist world. Slow to adapt, and will only adapt with a fight. Damn good article any of us, on any side of the coin can find common ground in.

Several friends contracted Omicron over the past couple weeks. All symptoms mild. One (verified) said it was less than a bad cold. All now likely have 10x more powerful and 50x longer lasting antibodies than their vaccinations gave them. Yes, all were vaccinated.

Conclusions:​

Meta-analyses based on 18 randomized controlled treatment trials of ivermectin in COVID-19 have found large, statistically significant reductions in mortality, time to clinical recovery, and time to viral clearance. Furthermore, results from numerous controlled prophylaxis trials report significantly reduced risks of contracting COVID-19 with the regular use of ivermectin. Finally, the many examples of ivermectin distribution campaigns leading to rapid population-wide decreases in morbidity and mortality indicate that an oral agent effective in all phases of COVID-19 has been identified.

A friend (she's a nurse, works in her dad's office; he's our doctor) now has covid for the third time. She's vaccinated and boosted. Apparently, in some cases vaccination and prior infection just aren't enough.

Despite her brother dying from covid 15 months ago, her husband is still anti-vax and anti-mask. Of course, he has covid now as well. I don't know how many times he's had it. Her brother was in his early 40s and a fitness nut.

Neighbors across the street all have covid, aren't doing very well.
 
I suppose if anyone was going to get it 3 times, it makes sense that it’s a nurse. Hope she fares well.

Question: If one submits to 3 shots and still contracts the disease, can we at least stop calling it a “vaccine”? It seems to be an effective medicine/therapeutic with demonstrable ability to reduce hospitalization and death. Fair enough. I almost wonder if more vax hesitant people would consider the shot if it had been marketed as a treatment rather than a cure.

If we all were pressured into getting 3 flu shots a year and then still got the flu, how long would the pattern persist?

Good research, and it is vital to stay out of the for profit hospitals that have cut beds year after year so frankly they cannot in most cases serve the public with spikes of illness.

Also please avoid the new emergency use authorization anti-virals, from what I have seen they do more harm than good.

Wouldn’t “for profit” hospitals want to increase the number of beds, to increase profits by hospitalized patients?

I’m sorry I hear your point of the medical system being fucked up to no end, but your argument is oh so very weak.

So if your physician prescribes one of these anti-virals for you, is the correct response "No, no, no! A guy on my tree forum said they do more harm than good."?

Sad but true... the medical and governmental institutions that are making policy have been completely captured by monied interests. They are not following the science, or at least not the science that hasn't been prostituted by the same monied interests.
 
Sorry, but you lost me at Ron Johnson. A well known bullshit artist, and notorious spreader of disinformation and debunked conspiracy theories.. Sadly he wasn't the only bullshit artist in the room during this political stunt masquerading as a senate hearing.

Would you like to elaborate on specifically what information you believe to be inaccurate within this group's discussion.

For me, I find facts hold more weight than character deformations.
 
I did a little research into the doctors in Ron Johnson's group. Eye opening, to say the least. Not all of them are MDs and some of the MDs specialize in fields unrelated to viruses and vaccines (ophthalmology, psychiatry, etc.)

I agree that greed often drives people to unethical behaviors, but that applies across the board. Many individuals have figured out how to handsomely profit by pedaling misinformation and unproven treatments; there's a huge market for it.

Before taking a doctor's word as truth, remember Dr. Stella Immanuel, who claims some gynecological problems are caused by women having sex with demons in their dreams, alien DNA is currently used in medical treatments, part of the government is run by reptilians and aliens, and that she successfully treated hundreds of covid patients with hydroxychloroquine.
 
When you have any group of people, you will always find some that are less qualified and even counter to what that group represents. That does not mean information coming from that group is worthless and has no merit. I know many brilliant people that have questionable ethics and are not always correct in what they say. That does not mean I will ignore 'everything' they say.

Going to mainstream media's controlled outlets to verify what they are saying is true and that 'others' are misinformed, is not the smartest move. Try reading the actual data from 'all' sources around the world and you may come to a more balanced conclusion.
