Compact Bulldog Bone

Couldn't be any clearer...Thanks! Can you make an example of the sequence since you reach a stop using the BDB and do the swap with the lanyard using the prusik?:estudioso: Thank you!!!
I have a short video coming up soon. It's going to have most of the techniques covered here, PLUS...:)...Mini BDB Lanyard Adjuster in action. I hope to finish that up in a couple days. Hang tight, y'all!

This is my favorite combo to take with me for unexpected things.
I don't see that TreeStuff still has them but the white one is a Sterling sliding prusik, one can be made with a sliding double fisherman's as well, just not as compact. Nice as I can cinch the non pursik end to the connection and or change the size available for pursik vs. the tether or whatever it is used for.

My bone just came in the mail. I can't wait to take it out. It's a beautiful day, but I'm home with 2 sick kids. Maybe after my wife comes home I'll get to go out for a bit.20150309_160441-1.webp

I love the BDB!!! And I love this weather! Yes, I was working in a t-shirt today!
I don't think I need to do anything different with my combination of rope and bollard because I have it perfect, but are people finding anything working better than the Orange Tachyon? I need to get some new rope soon and am thinking about trying different, but I don't know if that would be a mistake if what I got is working great.

I am finding that only some of the 12+mm ropes work well with the Bone, Such as Vortex and Yale XTC, the other fat ropes I have tested with grip well, but the release is too stop and go. The orange Tachyon is better than the green in my estimation but both work. Also I like the KM III, the Rocket line, and Cougar, with good grip on my weight and a smooth release. The 11mm ropes are too skinny to grip on the Bone with my weight (165 lbs)

Should I get some Cougar?

Got the Cougar from Worthaug and it runs very smoothly on the Bone using the 5/8" bollard with my weight. I like it alot, better than the Tachyon on this third batch Bone I would have to say.
Thanks for sending it to me to test with Reed.

I was thinking about the Cougar or the KM III, but might just get more of the Tachyon that I know works well for me. My only dislike with the Tachyon is it seems to get roughed up really easily...almost like it is attracted to sharp things.

Any thoughts?

I have been liking the cougar (puke) as well. However, I am creeping with the 5/8" bollard, which is a unfortunate being that the release is as perfect as it gets. 180lbs with no gear by the way

John, I'm digging my Tachyon and Cougar. Haven't really noticed issues with the Tachyon getting roughed up any more than others. I think either one would suit you well. I'd go for the best deal at this point. :)

Good point.
Tachyon $.95
Cougar $1.09
- but you are getting .2mm more rope when buying the Cougar. ;)

Join the rough rider crew I formed just now. I'm looking for members who roll on 12 strand straight up bone doggin it 4 life

Hmmm...no creep here at 190 lbs. Except after a long fast drop I get maybe an extra 6" or so.
Same body weight, same bollard and the bones behaving differently...must be the bone spine having a different shape at the base. I'm trying to get the Cougar blue from the UK which compared to mine will be at least 1mm. thinner, just because I don't want to do anything to the bone for now to make my fat rope go smoother through the lower arms. I didn't really want to move to a thinner rope but let's try!!! Also good to have an extra rope!

Haha, funny to hear you say that. I have 200' of Arrowfrog that I haven't even gotten to try yet. Swingdude has turned me into a rope junkie.
I thought about the Arrowfrog too...I like the color...are the Yale 11.7 ropes BDB friendly? No milking no slippages etc.??? Plus, do all colors yale 11.7 behave the same?
