Compact Bulldog Bone

I thought about the Arrowfrog too...I like the color...are the Yale 11.7 ropes BDB friendly? No milking no slippages etc.??? Plus, do all colors yale 11.7 behave the same?
I can't say Tico though I've heard the dye can effect performance. Not enough time on the BDB lately, I've been in the bucket too much.

Same body weight, same bollard and the bones behaving differently...must be the bone spine having a different shape at the base...

BDB's have been made with a couple of different 'pivot hole to friction link hole' spacing dimensions in the top arms and this effects grip on a given rope. A few of us have made custom top arms with even more hole spacing variations making it hard to compare performance.

Rope condition can make a significant difference as well.

I have Yale Arrowfrog and both orange and green Aztec and prefer them to other ropes I have tried with the BDB (haven't tried Cougar yet). At ~185 lbs geared up, the Yale 11.7's give me smoother starts, stops and better descent speed control. Some say the Yale 11.7's flatten out to much. I haven't seen this to cause any problems. I have not observed any milking of the cover.

The Yale 11.7's have worked best for me with the 3/4" bollard.

Disclaimer....I'm a big fan of the Yale 11.7's.

I'm a huge fan of those lines as well I'm looking to get back on it and some cougar to try . @200 lbs I may benefit from a pivot altered bone to grab the Yale's a bit better , don't know if that will help me ,but I was getting minor creep at times on them more the arrowfrog ...if I'm remember ing clearly its been a while now and I've been messing with other lines . The bone does perform a little different on everything ,but overall its good on anything I've thrown at it.

Longer space between the holes in the upper arms provide increased hold. To my best knowledge, the latest BDB's have shorter spacing than the previous version. I also suspect Gordon would customize a set to whatever you need.

Here's a peek at the winter we've been having up here in New England. The weather has made for some difficulties, but also some fun. I hope you enjoy this vid featuring the Mini Bone Lanyard Adjuster in action. It performs quite well with 10mm lines in DdRT mode and SRT mode.

100% appreciation!!! My compliments, cute little bdb lanyard, also nice transitions, editing and music...and the thimble loop of course!!!!!!(y)

I'll have to watch that on the big screen when I get home! Nice work! How do you even see what you're doing in that much snow? Love all the technique! I could watch you all day...:binoculares:

Thanks, Tico. The Mini is really cool, though currently not midline attachable. Not a big deal at all for a lanyard application. I'm realizing that I could run 2 or even 3 thimble loops on my saddle for really large complex crowns. Useful little kit.

I'm really hoping to get to the State College Training in June to learn some stuff. Also hoping to maybe find some local guys I can watch or work with on some weekends to learn from some other pros. Them not me, lol.

Thank you very much, John. It is hard to find branch collars with all the lichen and snow. You can see I bounce the limbs a bit with my feet sometimes to shake a bit loose, but mostly I just try to wipe the area a bit before laying the blade into a cut. Makes for a fun challenge.

I run a Petzel Grillion, Love the mechanical on a lanyard although one of these days I need to make a traditional 2 sided lanyard like Derricks
That can be useful. What length are you thinking? I've just found that I can get away with a much shorter lanyard than I ever used to run as I go deeper and deeper into SRWP.
