I will say, this looks simple enough. If I had an excavator or something with no Avant hook up I might use this. (In the comments there seems to be several people saying it's easy to set controles to not have pressure on fittings.) But, I wouldn’t know myself.
Do you sometimes need help in...
Not sure of how much time people spend with connections not working right off the bat, so I can't say.
But I can say the Avant set up is 3 seconds or so. Swipe a glove or rag across the connection points to clear any dust, mate up, and toggle the handle over.
That's an interesting work around. The Avant leveraged handle works flawlessly to connect and disconnect. When I've heard this discussed in the past I've thought I would get an Avant hyd connect part and install it if I had other equipment, or, I've since seen a similarly made copy of that unit.
Have to hype Diesel Kleen to anyone who cares.
I have a 2018 Ram 5500 with the 6.7 Cummins, about 46k mi now. From new it would frequently go into regen and stay on for 15 or 20 minutes of driving. At some point I saw addatives being talked about as important to today's fuel because of...
I cut down an old pallet to be narrow enough to fit in my trailer then put extra plywood on top to handle crush. Grapple leading edge, back up to stretch dangle out on grapple, set it down and disconnect. Have since grabbed a couple of free plastic pallets to remake this once wood one is too...
Two companies in Canada make nice aluminum chip boxes. Voth for pretty, and Eloquip for more highly customizable.
The search function could help you find where boxes have been talked about before but I never saw a lot of info here. If you're going beyond off the shelf designs I think you have...
Those ebay, BMS were very well worn. Pictures did not depict the half of it.
I ordered one (of 3?)and when recieved canceled the purchase feeling like picture was taken from an angle to conceal depth of wear groove.
If a person bought one knowing wear and thought it wasn't going to be an...
At least one rope grab has a quick release pin for easy on off the rope. The SS unit used on the Wraptor and elsewhere. I would feel good about using up to 1500 lb pull. I have one on a Masdam rope puller and the Masdam itself goes to full slip at about 1200 to 1500lb resistance.
TreeStuff used to have "parties" where someone would show up with thousands of dollars of tree gear for people to try. A great get together and learning/sharing experience. Might have started back up post covid.
Talk around and if not borrowing an item to try how it works for you, at least think in terms of trying an item on for fit.
Most people, tree people especially, like to help others and if you're willing to lend a hand dragging brush etc for a bit who could say no?
These Opsal (not Alcoa) cast aluminum pads have been marketed with verbiage that they didn't fit Bashlin climbers for years. When in fact they at best took a little saw file work to knock off some burs to make them fit - for the curving shank Bashlin climbers. However the straight shanked...
I have neglected to post about this but would not recommend anyone try it. Very frustrating even for an occasional cut. Not only not pro but a total annoyance to assemble and use.
