Stay away from it is my go to. If that is not an option a heavy detergent like dishwasher detergent will get a lot of the oil off. If the itch has already set in you can use rubbing alcohol. I wipe it on with a paper towel and it it dry. This helps with the itch and speeds up recovery.

I like to splice my own gear whenever possible. For prussiks, I like to keep the eye as small as possible. The stitched eyes tend to work the best for keeping the hitch close to the pulley.
I use a pfluger fly automatic fishing reel. Any automatic fly fishing reel should work. The Shakespeare is fatter and the pfluger is thinner. Look on ebay for antique fly fishing reel. I got 2 pflugers for 35.00
I love it when you guys get a hold of an idea and make it your own. I really enjoy seeing all the versions of the R500 drillcender. @Burrapeg probably has the nicest one. He came up with the idea for a holder to keep the drill from spinning. I still need to add that to mine.
I use a 50' lanyard with a hitch tending pulley on each end. Works as a long lanyard and a flip line or 2 long lanyards.
I also use the tail of my climbing line as an extra lanyard when needed.
I like to use the MARCS from climbing innovations. It is mid-line attachable and it bends to small diameters. I climb ddrt and use ddrt on my lanyard to advance my TIP. I switch between them until I get to the top. Then I set a ring and ring and climb off of that.

What part of Florida are you in? I am in north central and we have some pretty nice oaks up here. Nothing over 100' but they make for some fun climbs. If you are in the neighborhood we can meet up for some climbing. I know a few other climbers around here and we are starting to get...
I got my bag yesterday. It is very well made. I rescued both cats with it as soon as I got home. They did not like it so I did not close them in. I can see how in a tree speed is necessary. If you take your time a cat can wiggle out. If I ever need it I am ready. I suggest practicing with it. I...
It is a flip line and mini ddrt system. It is great for rec climbing and some pruning jobs. I have a shorter rig for removals, which doesn't get much use these days. It works well with my main ddrt system.
