In all seriousness, 1/2 inch is nothing. I'm starting to see why people like the wrench. It is seriously smooth. I got a shorty tether in the mail today and a couple stiched eye cords. I don't have much to climb tomorrow except a couple sappy spruces and a white pine. I might have to stop on the...
Damn, don't hold back so much of your feelings, lol. The majority isn't always right and some people have different opinions, that's why we have so many options of nice stuff to climb on. But I do want to get an hc soon. But a pinto as a lanyard adjuster is a waist of money. My lanyard adjusts...
I really wanted ice tail to work good for me. I love the softness and heat resistance of it and it grabs a hard rope real well, but I just couldn't ever get it dialed in to where I had much control. It would grab hard or release completely. I might be able to do better with it, but I moved on to...
I think it would not be a saftey issue as it is the hitch cord that is your life support. The friction from the dogbone and biner/shackle is just making it so the hitch is easier to break free and probably gives it more finesse when decending.
I don't understand why the slick pin pivoting would change the tending. I don't have an hhx, so maybe it's just something I can't conceptualize. With the biner in the hh2, as it pivots the curvature of the biner turns and changes the amount of friction slightly, I think thats what you are...
I am not far off bro. I almost ordered that hc pulley last night, but I saw someone had both eyes of a double eye tether on the inside of a pinto so I decided I will try that, with the new shorty tether and the stitched eye to eyes I ordered, lol. I'll get the hc sooner than later I'm sure. It's...
Are you suggesting to put the rig spacer on the slick pin? My first inclination is that it wouldn't work, but it's an interesting idea. Let us know if you try it!
This is what I'm using right now...
Straight valdotain, more wraps than most think I would need, but it works for me. I have the...
I hesitate to buy an hc because it's $60 and if I don't need it, then I could use that $ somewhere else. But hey, I could use my pinto somewhere else, I just threw it on because I had it. Then I gotta get another $25 dollar tether, but the broom stick is unnecessarily long, lol. @swingdude, I...
On my initial testing today, the hrc seemed to run great. The wrench it's self seems to give a little bit more friction than what might be optimal, but thats just theory for me at this point in my wrench experience. I'll probably order some 10mm and give it a try. Tending seemed smooth to me...
Why would you never entertain 13mm? I have been loving mine. This is my 5th srt line in the last year and my favorite so far. Also had km3 max 11mm and didn't find it to be bouncy. Maybe its your/my climbing style? This km3 13mm doesn't budge at my weight.
Edit: the km3 max 11mm was too hard to...
I have. I like it how I have it. Good control, very responsive, easy tending, drops like a bomb, but only if I want it to, and will stop smooth or on a dime if I want it to. What more could you ask for? Plus I like something to grab.
Whats better about the hitch climber? I can get a shorty double eye from Gap. The tails are long because I am getting my length figured out. I will splice myself an eye and eye. Maybe order stitched. We will see.
Oh and btw, at a 100ft canopy tie, this rope had no elongation or bounce. I'm 175lbs with no gear or shoes, I was probably close to 200 with all the stuff I brought up with me.
