    Lift Advice

BTW, I have run the SD64 for the last 4 years, in my opinion the best lift for the money. Dino makes a good machine, but the deal breaker for us was that it doesnt have independent steering axles, and it is a fair bit more money. We like the larger basket as well. Nifty is expanding their...

Best Cab and Chassis for a Grapple Truck

Curious what you guys are setting your trucks up with, new or used, and why. I am looking for a tight turning radius truck, with plenty of power. Not looking to stay under CDL, and want to be able to pull a trailer. Any input would be appreciated.

    Echo rear handle recommendation

We had the opposite experience. I ran the 501s quite a while, but the Husky 550 is simply a better built saw as far as performance, durability, and air filtering. It does start a little harder though.

Do you let customers help with work?

Keep your prices high, and keep in mind that once you are on the job your insurance company owns the property. You have the say on what happens when onsite. Also, BTW, bid the jobs instead of working hourly and set your minimums. It leaves less for them to pick apart.

    Employees

Hire on the basis of character and work ethic, hire someone you know, and don't be afraid to train. Make your company a desirable place to work, with the right equipment for the job. Also it is important to have proper compensation levels and a decent bonus program. That is what works for me.

    mini skid choice/tx1000W?

I have my doubts that they ever will. You might be waiting awhile if that is what you are looking for.

    mini skid choice/tx1000W?

The twin levers are demonstrateably more precise, due to the delay of electric over hydraulic on the joystick.

    mini skid choice/tx1000W?

I will also add that although the tx1000 has better visibility to the attachments that the ditch witches, due to the extra pivot points in there vertical lift arms the Toro doesnt have as fast of recovery if you are working slopes and your load shifts and you need to drop your load for any...

    mini skid choice/tx1000W?

There is a reason there is not very many used ditch witches. And you are comparing 2 different size machines when you compare the Tx 1000 with the 1050. If you are wanting an accurate comparrison compare the tx 1000 with the SK800. Adding a weight kit to the 800 will give you more capacity...

    mini skid choice/tx1000W?

Dont buy Toro unless you are prepared to buy lots of tracks! They are still using rubber lugs, and that simply does not work. expect only 2-300 hours per set in medium use tree work. We had 2 of the Toro 1000W, they are nice machines but simply were not built as well as the Ditch Witches...

Is a 18+2 equipment trailer long enough for a nifty sd64 lift?

If you want the basket on the trailer get a 24'...with that length, if needed, I can get my ditch witch mini in under the basket and still keep it all on the deck. It is tight, but it works. Mine is a PJ H7, 22+2 and 5 ft. ramps. I have an SD64.

High and low ranges for tree work across the country

It takes some time to feel out a market...And one gets a feel for what a job/tree is worth after a while. Then what you make per day depends on your equipment, and efficiency. For example, I noticed my gross income per day average went up a fair bit when I quit chipping and started using a...
