Mid to upper teens, but that would be on the high end.

    Paper based

I made it a point to get an Ipad without a SIM...and Goodnotes can be worked with offline. So when I get back to my wifi at the shop all of the pics and screenshots automatically upload to Google Photos, and then the updates happen overnight. I have not had an update that deleted anything...

    Paper based

I was where you are several years ago...You need to seriously think about a remote secretary. All of this type of work can be done remotely, it just take some time to get your processes figured out. I started out by hiring a remote secretary service, but after seeing what all could be done...

    Ditchwitch SK800 or 1050 needed

I about forgot about this post...I did find a 1050 in PA a couple of weeks ago, and purchased it so I am good for now. I just posted here first because it's a community I trust.

    Paper based

I was paper based on quotes until 2 years ago, but have been running Jobber since '14. I went from paper to a iPad Pro 11" with the Goodnotes app and the Apple pencil. Goodnotes is a simple program that you can add files to folders, and have a variety of templates to work off of. I highly...

Crew Leader Wanted - Portland OR

Some days posts like these look attractive...Just run someones crews without having the headaches of owning a business. But then I wouldnt have as much say in what happens, who gets hired, etc. I am blessed with a long-term dependable team that knows how to work together, and good equipment...

Chainsaw Milling instead of Firewooding big rounds

We purchased a Mahoe mill just for this purpose. For this large of stuff a bandsaw is not stiff enough unless you spend the money and get one with a 4" wide band. The Mahoe uses an electric 3 phase motor to power a 6' chainsaw bar, with a 60" useable cutting width. Also you have the option to...

Quik-jet Air, FSeries Tree IV, or BioForest EcoJect??

Just saw this thread...we use the ecojet and love it. We like the ability to prefill all of the canisters at the shop, or take the equipment along for filling on the job. All of the canister can be put in at once for much quicker per tree time, and you don't have to deal with a high pressure...

    Deck over trailers

Not sure what width you need, but you might look at the PJ H7. It is a lowdeck trailer with drive over fenders, a dovetail, and 6' standup ramps. I much prefer that over the full width beaver tail, simply because they are much lighter. It seems that the helper springs get less effective over...

Working alone: Is it the most dangerous thing you can do?

That is an interesting assessment. We are normally a crew of 4, and I have had opportunity to increase that to 6 on some larger jobs. I realize that the increased manpower comes with some risk, but that also allows us to work in 2 crews of 3 on the job. That is what we try for, but of coarse...

    Hardware Hauler

The fold-down lid on the middle toolbox makes a great work table to service chainsaws and sharpen chains.

    Hardware Hauler

I just set up this truck this year...it is amazing how much these toolboxes hold, and I can still pull a gooseneck trailer! Then I have extra attachments and the rake for the mini on the front of the trailer, as well as a backpack blower.

    Rigging tripod or A frame

We have this onsite every day! It's called a grapple truck. Ours is rear mount, and I have a hydraulic winch with Amsteel mounted on the back. We just put a redirect on the top of the frame and it makes a great anchor that's good for 60 ft per minute line speeds. Or we can put a redirect...

    In helmet communication systems

We have been using SpeakEasy for the pasr couple of years, and have like it overall. We switched to them after using the Sena 10s. I wanted to be able to pair 5 or 6 units, and they have side buttons on the unit vs the Senas big bump button on the back. Speak Easy is very clear and the noise...

    2019 Vermeer SC552 Stump Grinder

Having good subs is imperative if you operate a system like that. I feel that it is important to have quality control over the entire job, but if you have that kind of relationship with your landscaper that is awesome.

    2019 Vermeer SC552 Stump Grinder

Not sure how you get by with that, most elderly clients or clients with vacation homes don't have the strength or the time to clean up stump chips. Especially the big stumps! We usually just take our stump grinder along when we need it on the job, and then the grinding can be done while we do...

I know all of us that use the Ditchwitch machines wouldn't be without them, but I was wondering if any one of you are ahead of the 8 ball and have got your new machine? I need another one quite badly, and won't get my new 1050 until December at the earliest. So asking if you have one that...
