It was dependent on only one locking mechanism. If anything happened to that one lock it would catastrophically fail. I dont understand how it ever made it to the shelves as a life support product.

I have the vivo barefoot. They were popular at the itcc with the majority of the Masters challenger climbers wearing them. I love them. Make sure you get the stitched on soles vs the glued on.
I did find in that configuration there is a bit more drag than clipping into the slot under the pulley. The way you have it in the picture it works, but there is always some clamping action at the pulley, even during ascent.

It is heavier and a little larger than a normal cube. But it folds flat and is a neat rectangle which is a bit easier to puzzle into places than a triangle.
