Wowzers lol this should be fun, I think we are going to brush out the fronds some other way than climbing it, so woohoo.
I think I will spray myself in raid before I climb, instant death to all bugs, then i will have skin poisoning from raid lol jk.
Thanks again guys for your thoughts!!
Merle,
I have done other palms in the greenhouse with a lift but this might have to be a climb we are trying for scaffolding for the fact that it has cockroaches, really point leaves and just the fact of limited exposure to spiking palms.
It always amazes me how fast the saw will clog with the...
Yes i cant wait, i keep thinking about one going down my shirt not sure what to do at that point lol.
Another greenhouse we did a banana tree and at the base in the leaves and stalks it had some pretty big ones in there lol.
Not a fan either for sure!
Hey Buzzers,
Where I am employed we have to remove a phoenix palm.
I have never climbed a palm and was wondering what the structural integrity is for the area after the main trunk wood ends if that makes sense. I guess the area I am concerned about is where the old palms where cut or that fell...
I blew out my L5 a couple years after I got started in the industry.
I went for 1.5 with horrible sciatic pain, numbness, and limited movement.
Hours and and hours of just physical therapy, no relief.
Then someone turned me on to SPINAL DECOMPRESSION!!
I sounds like an infomercial but it...
I agree with that!! I met Eric at my employment when some big storms rolled through, his company came down and climbed like crazy! Saw him a couple years later at OHIO tree care conference and he was the same and remembered me and invited me out every night to hang with everyone. Down to earth...
I love my arb pros. I will say the clip n steps felt differently than just the regular arb pro evos. I love them in spikes for me they are super comfy! The clip n steps are tough to wear on the ground just walking around, they do hurt my feet a little, but man what a great boot for in the tree!
Yah ditto on Mikes equipment I drool over it lol.
Big chipper, knuckle boom, grapple loader, mini with BMG, does he own rakes lol, jk. What more could you want.
My buddy Mike was working for him for awhile, I would love to get more experience from this guy.
The K booms seem a little different...
Your working with Mike Poor, that is sweet, I watched him in ohio at a k boom demo, super cool guy from what I could tell and down to earth! Very knowledgeable about k booms!!!
Have a good time and come home to that cute lil guy every day, theres nothing better than to see there smiling faces...
I like the spring on the tightener!!
We have one like that at work too real old, dont know who makes it, ours has no cleats on it though to grab to the tree like that, same bollard though.
Royce you make me sick lol, that's so awesome!
I love the Vermont scenery.
Hope you find something evo, sounded like an awesome deal. Its my dream too to own land and have a small house with a wood burner.
