My Latest Contract Climbing Adventure.

As I start today, I would like to thank all of you Buzzards for the support. This community is really something special, nowhere else do I feel surrounded by my peers more. I hope to get a chance two meet some more of you in person as my adventures continue, my wife and I are already looking for our next destination.
So once again, thank you everyone, The Buzz is a shining light in the Arb world.

Here is what's left of my after lunch project. 3 syberian elms, man these things hinge poorly. I had to side guy one to keep the lean from taking out the travel trailer.

The grapple truck is new this year, from the talk around the tail gate. His chipper is what is really caught me off guard, the only ones that big I have been around were on tracks, working for clearance company's.

He can run the company with out a climber. Mike is a hell of a one man show, he is a talented climber himself. I plan on comming back from time to time as my adventures take me back and forth. He has a few other contract climbers that work off and on as well.

What's he running? A Bandit 1890 or 1990? I absolutely love my 20" chipper, game changer for sure!image.webp

Yah ditto on Mikes equipment I drool over it lol.

Big chipper, knuckle boom, grapple loader, mini with BMG, does he own rakes lol, jk. What more could you want.

My buddy Mike was working for him for awhile, I would love to get more experience from this guy.
The K booms seem a little different than the stick booms.

What a great opportunity!!

Mike is running a 1990 on a custom chassis to fit the mini on the tongue. The chipper is scarry big to be standing next to. If yall recall the huge debate on whole tree chipper operation I can see the 2 man argument clear as day now.

Tyler, are you saying that you guys managed to take down three whole trees, top to bottom, in the time you folks had left in the day after your lunch break?

If yes, that is scary fast! What a great work experience!

Tim

It was 3 syberian elms all 20in minimum dbh. The first 2 were directionaly felled, the last had to be rigged out. Between the dingo wide track and that 20 in chipper they came down in no time. As everyone knows, the bottle neck in a removal is brush forewarning, the dingo makes short work of it.
