Anybody put something like an AirTag, Tile, Galaxy SmartTag, etc... on equipment and/or vehicles to track if they are stolen? These are all "crowd source" tracking, so they need other people's phones around allowing location tracking. I also see MavGo that sounds like it uses cellular...
I haven't seen need to deviate from a quickie. Simple, fast. Just go through the spliced eye/no additional knots or hardware. Light weight cord with an accessory carabiner to pull it down. I haven't tried it with more than one redirect, so that could change my thoughts!
I started with a homemade air cannon, but switched back to big shot. Still try to throw if I can and have the time. Big shot is quicker, but I don't want the skill to perish (I admittedly use "skill" loosely! - i've watched arborists who are good)
I haven't heard anything lately about the predators.
As for if you leave an untreated tree nearby: you are still protecting the trees you are protecting. And maybe the neighbors too.
One small case study: I have a client who we've been treating for I think 18 years. Neighbor's tree never...
Don't put equipment through the rough use of land clearing...but I'm not great at all scheduled maintenance. Pretty good with basic oil changes, hitting grease point, and the like. It's usually when I notice some off, then I'll start looking and doing thorough once over to pick up all the...
I have used it. I quit using it because I heard it doesn't move as well in trees as G4 or other formulations. I cannot say I used it long enough to see that myself, but I didn't use it long enough either.
(EDIT): correction to the record. Apparently it does move through the tree to kill...
"Is it here yet?"
When it was hitting this region (I'm 100 miles south of Detroit where it was first found - but when I say "region", lets call it a 5 state area or so...) we realized if it was reported to be within 50 miles of you, it was in your trees, and probably has been for 3 years.
It might be a good idea to run the contract language past your insurance agent.
"I'm gonna ask you to pay if I shatter a driveway and lose in court...does this protect us from that?"
Obviously a court case can go either way.
Finally, FWIW: I'd still be ticked if you cracked my concrete...
We had some pretty nasty winds a few weeks ago that uprooted a couple of trees. The clients wanted to attempt straightening these trees. In such situations, I always tell the client:
We need to ask why the tree didn't root well in the first place and what we are going to do differently to...
Did they put a weed barrier down? Those certainly inhibit successful route development.
How is the soil below the berm? If the berm is nice loose rich organic soil that is on top of clay that was stripped of topsoil when they built the neighborhood, the roots are just staying where they feel...
As to the sprouting...maybe some storm damage? Some of those look like they had been topped. But it sure looks like there is green to the tips of the branches all around.
That's pretty cool.
But, if you're gonna doubt the moon landing (I don't, but just sayin'):
1) That video doesn't prove its a feather.
2) The same thing can be done (and has been done) in a vacuum chamber. Would be harder to fake the low gravity. I guess if you want to disprove that it was...
Probably a good idea to sit down with an attorney and your crane operator all together. If something goes sideways you want to be on the same page and you both know the contract wasn't set up to screw one and protect the other. Preserve the friendship!
My insurance doesn't charge anything to...
Is that an unreasonable ask?
Even if they did sign it, if the tank abandon before they bought the property and it was never disclosed to them, they probably could get out of liability to the crane. If it was not a known hazard and a waiver is signed, and it made it to court, I'd bet that the...
It's been growing with "not enough space" for decades. At some point that road or sidewalk will get replaced. I'd keep the tree until then. Is the city saying the sidewalk needs replaced? Or you are saying "if" the sidewalk is replaced, it needs to be poured new? Are they open to options...
Is this the only crack?
I'm trying to figure out what's going on, from poor pictures with me, honestly, not having a lot of experience with splitters.
If that's it, will that piece come off? Take it off, grind the paint off and have it welded back together. If you give the piece to them...
Looks like Ohio is charging $695. I don't know the numbers off hand, but most of that goes to ISA/pays for the instructors. The local component is responsible for venue and lunch, IIRC, and ends up with a little profit from it (but probably not really because we also pay the director who...
