GPS equipment tracking

Anybody put something like an AirTag, Tile, Galaxy SmartTag, etc... on equipment and/or vehicles to track if they are stolen? These are all "crowd source" tracking, so they need other people's phones around allowing location tracking. I also see MavGo that sounds like it uses cellular networks, advertises "no monthly fees" (because they charge an annual fee instead LOL). Living in a relatively low crime area I'm not going to invest thousands, but the more I think about it they more I think it prudent to have something. I think some you can make them so that a phone scan doesn't find the tracker.

(I do understand if you don't think it a good idea to post on a public forum that you have hidden trackers...).

Air Tags will tell you if a non paired tag is moving with you. I found one in a bulldozer I bought last year.


It’s also handy to know where things are if you’re working with a crew/multiple drivers, being able to forecast when they’ll arrive/be back/etc.

Would you mind sharing what you settled on... again, I understand if you would rather not talk too much about security protocols.

Reading around more, that is an anti-stalker feature (so a stalker cannot put it on victoms car, for example). I didn't even think about it in that regard so it makes sense that they identify themselves. But from an antitheft standpoint it would be great if they didn't.

There are airbag size traders sold by other companies that I believe deleted the notification aspect. I bought one and haven't put it into play. I'll check for info and post more soonish.
