Ring and rig friction saver from pulley saver

Shawn- you could, prob do another coil on the ring if you wanted. I had the older pulleysaver with the rig and red snap, I've had some hard snags on retrieval in choked mode. The soft eye sort of more like a teardrop shape and rig being heavy just will not pull through. I don't like to climb...

Ring and rig friction saver from pulley saver

Added the "Rig on a loop" to a fimblesaver. Just playing around with random things I don't use much. . Also using a "ring loop" that looked useful but I've yet to use....

I shackled up with a Hitch Hiker

slick idea! I know this is a remote chance, but!....orientation of the shackle pin, have you experienced "roll out" of the shackle pin? I have had shackle pins in rigging creep, maybe one turn, it is alarming when you find it! maybe not a big deal but I think the possibility would be greater...

Thanks! I got a little carried away. It's rated at 4900lb mbs. The way I figure, the ascender would fail/sheer main line before nano frog would break. I even thought about using 1/8 Vectran (12.5 kn). It'd be like climbing on a shoelace! I'll admit, I did pick up 15 ft of it, just in case :)

Slightly smaller than micro frog, The Nano frog! 3/16 Amsteel. Personally, I like the Vectran for feel. The Amsteel tends to "wire out" or stiffen as braid goes under tension. Acting and feeling stiff like a cable or wire. It picks and fuzzes like mad too...

    SRT or SRWP?

Why complicate it? SRT- Access, work, positioning, rec or production. DbDRT or shortened into DRT Anybody here really confused about what either technique is? They are mostly accepted terms although not totally descriptively accurate. Easy acronyms to use and commonly understood. I say...

    Recall Notice: Petzl ZIGZAG

I actually liked the ziggy. Was quite excited about it actually. Got it from tree stuff shortly after the email saying "they're in!" Not to say I was a Visionary or anything, but as I hooked up to it the very first time, I thunk to myself "that top attachment hole seems a little dinky". Not...

Thanks fellas! Splicing bug gets ya when you finally "get it". I've spliced glider tow line many years ago and have played with eye splices on 3 strand truck tie down rope. Got myself some fids, Samson guide and off cuts of double braid and 12 strand about a year ago. Watched some videos and...

Syd, That's a lot of revolvers! And so shiny too! Have you function tested that setup yet? I found that retrieving it works best if you get close to being below the main TIP. It drops right back to you. Really quickly too! I found out the knuckle smacking, cursing way. I let line droop a...

Appreciate the safety concern. It is an ascender, petzl croll on saddle, or when working SRT im using rope wrench. pantin footie. Is there a recall on the kong futura? Any safety concern I should be aware of? Other than normal concerns of a toothed ascender? Nick, you've been doing this for a...

Spliced a microfrog. Vectran, kong futura, thimble and a 9" piece of tubular webbing. https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/nOVksQsFATn5HJIbtqhT0NMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0 Spent a good deal of time getting lengths of sections just right by using and adjusting 8mm cord tied with knots,shifting...

My failed attempt at humor aside, Single rope mechanical hitch Granted, not 100% accurate as some do rely on hitch cord.

Thanks! Good point i forgot to mention ocean! I have done it that way and works reliably, only drawbacks are moving through canopy with three lines and I find the dangling loop of the tail getting hung up a lot and depending on size of the tree, distance of TIP and redirect, it can limit how...
