I get it but without the Z in hand I can’t find a wrap around reference or one for side shield. The side shield references osha that circles back to the z. So even though my understanding was side shields or wrap, I can’t prove it in writing so I have to state it as an opinion or assumption...
In light of the conversation. The OSHA standard that references the shit I have to pay $75 dollars to understand how to keep my eyes safe (like its a secret worth $75)---money grab.
I would like to amend my stance on this issue. If it says Z87 then as far as I'm concerned go ahead and if you...
OSHA Standard:
Protective eye and face protection devices must comply with any of the following consensus standards:
1910.133(b)(1)(i)
ANSI/ISEA Z87.1-2010, Occupational and Educational Personal Eye and Face Protection Devices, incorporated by reference in § 1910.6;
1910.133(b)(1)(ii)

Ok.....learning and trying to share correct info at the same time. So here is something I was not aware of from Wiley X. I'll need to look up the OSHA standard. I don't know what thats about.
Your point is well taken about the stamping on the frames. If it's stamped then it should be good...
Thats how I read it. I can't find anything otherwise except, manufacturer. My Wiley X Profile RX glasses are not Z rated without the side shields. I can put in the removable or permanent. Does that clear things up? LOL. So it's up to someone having the knowledge to see what they're looking...
Thinking you'd have to read the ANSI Z87 to find the specifics. The glasses will not say Z133. they will be simply stamped ANSI Z87
ANSI Z87.1 Safety Glasses Standard
The ANSI Z87.1 standard outlines essential requirements for safety glasses, particularly regarding side protection.
Side...
My understanding is it has to wrap of have side shields. My Wiley X do not meet the standard without the side shields and the manufacturer states that.
I'm more looking for the mechanics of the device. I can try to put it in perspective of the canopy I'd be in. I like to see things like both sides of the device set up and where the lines go and in what order. Just assuming I know nothing at all when you produce it. Assume we have no idea...
I feel like the process through installation and removal would be beneficial. Just the most basic steps of it. I've seen the vids you did with Dave but I want to see more in a format I can repeat, pause, analyze. Yes I agree. If it doesn't retrieve and its not user error then it's not as...
I teach with Ascension group and I know he's done a few lately and we have one together in October. Were you able to speak with Dave Stice when you inquired??
Well, Update. Ben is good and back to work according to some people I talked to. I passed on my info but never heard from him personally. No telling what thats all about but I'm glad he's ok
I generally leave an access line That I run up initially on the Akimbo. I then keep the akimbo on my harness and will use it for the second system on the tail or if I spike my MRS system and need a device to ascend back up.
Thanks Rico. I'm at least in the zipcode for him now. I'm good. Just climbin trees and filling my soul. Trying to live clean in mind and body. Trying......
Thanks Rico. I hope so too, I've communicated with Ben for a couple decades. Good man and such a great tree man. He was very fortunate to survive that accident. He sent me pics from the trauma bay and the ICU before/during/after surgery, All I can tell you is the photos were impactful...
