    Mini skid attachments storage

Hi how do you guys store your attachments on your truck or trailer? The rake and scoops are super handy, but I'm basically letting them flop around in the bottom of the trailer beside the mini skidsteer. I might fabricate a hook or holster of some kind. Has anyone done this? Looking for ideas...

    Samson Voyager color?

Hey does anyone know if Voyager comes in a hot color? I like climbing on this line, but I'm getting a few of the same colour... Velocity and the other V series come in hot and cool colors, what's up.with Voyager? Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

Employees are hard to come by. I had a friend come help me for the fall so I could a contract done, but she's here for a good time not a long time. We'll see how next year pans out for staff. I'm looking at my numbers and considering whether I can get into a bucket truck. Sent from my SM-G950W...

My 3rd crane job, this time I used 90' crane. 7 big Douglas-Fir in 9 hours. What a job. Some of those trees would have taken me a whole day by themselves! Also debut of the bmg rake and scoops, did a good job with final cleanup. Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

Is it worth spending big bucks on Chainsaw Pants?

I got my first pair of clogger zeros this summer. They're super comfy and light, but honesty they are already pretty trashed. Very low durability imo, I'll be looking for something a bit sturdier next. Open to suggestions Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

Thanks yes a bucket seems like the sensible option. A second staff can run the 550 miniskid&dump trailer Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    New HD TNA Grapple

It bites fine enough with just the 2 spikes for pushing. Imo, it doesn't seem realistic to bother with the time getting the 'whale tail' and wrenches out and bolting it on site. If it's that big of a tree that the 2 spikes are not adequate, maybe setting a line and/or pounding wedges may be...

    Scaling up

I'm feeling pretty discouraged about staff at the moment. Loyalty to a job is dead. I had a decent employee last year, I was paying him well. He could climb alright, drive, and showed up when he said he would. We could get things done efficiently. But over time he just got too comfortable, and...

    Scaling up

Hi there, Last year I upscale by getting a mini skidsteer, and it has been a game changer. My eyes are open to the benefits of investing in equipment. My current setup is a f550 dump w/ chipper, f350, dump trailer, dw sk750. I'm not yet ready for another piece of equipment, but I am looking...

    Rope questions…

Bags work great, I keep my climb lines in bags. Birds nest coil is also quite awesome, I use it for rigging lines. Basically start with a normal coil, 2 or 3 passes, then daisy chain the entire rest of the rope around the initial coil, and around itself. Its somewhat time consuming to put away...

    Tough to untie

Also pretty cheap/easy but effective is just a friction hitch sling and biner (and pulley optional). Prussic or machard tresse it in the pull line, slide it to a favourable location run your 3:1 or 5:1 Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

Dealing with different types of people in business

Some jobs are not worth even looking at. Also some customers are not worth dealing with. I get frustrated all the time with customers. If you don't have $500 to drop on a project, why do you even pick up the phone. (My min is 300 no cleanup, 500 min w/chipper) Many don't value the contractor's...

Rope to use with rope runner pro?

Samson Voyager works really well for me. On the rrp list of ropes samson's smaller and bigger velocity and vertex are listed, but not Voyager [emoji2369] I also use Samson hyperclimb . Sent from my SM-G950W using Tapatalk

    New HD TNA Grapple

I have very few issues with the tna 1 year in. I did cut the pusher to a lower profile, it was damaging the grapple. The only other thing is likely universal, the grapple bangs into itself while travelling empty if the operator does not orient the grapple in a specific manner. Sent from my...
