Is it worth spending big bucks on Chainsaw Pants?

what can i buy for florida extremely hot down here ?? we put on chaps now but its rather hard sometime the snaps let go !
Not all snaps are created equal!!! About 25 years ago we were having problems with snaps breaking, so Clogger went on a global hunt to get higher quality ones!!! Our Zero chaps (not the pants) are possibly the ultimate answer to hot weather work, so long as you are not climbing...

I might have to try a pair when it's time for some new ones. I've been super happy with both my Clogger Ascends and Zeros, but do like trying new things.

I guess some people perhaps misinterpreted the question as to whether or not it was worth it to spend a lot on pants that had basically the same rating (cut protection) as cheaper ones. Just to clarify I'm already wearing chainsaw pants (like I mentioned in the first comment) I'm just going to be getting a new pair and am going between either spending $425(or more) or $145 which isn't a big deal either way. But if you save a little here and there then you can put into other things (like nice "Haix protector ultra" chainsaw boots, which I also wear). Some peoples comments were helpful as well so thank you.
For me it’s about comfort. I have many different brands of saw pants, but I like Arborwear the best. They size them just like a normal pair of pants. They are definitely pricey but to me it’s worth it. If a less expensive brand were as comfortable, I’d get them. I just haven’t found them.

I got my first pair of clogger zeros this summer. They're super comfy and light, but honesty they are already pretty trashed. Very low durability imo, I'll be looking for something a bit sturdier next. Open to suggestions

Do give a review when they arrive, I love Arborwear and would buy them for the crew but their others are just too hot!
Finally came time to replace my Zeroes so I ordered the Dogwoods and boy howdy are they nice. Perfect fit, lighter than Zeroes, better ventilation, and less expensive. I'll have to wait and see how durable they are, but for now I've found the perfect pant.

Thanks for the update! It’s hard to believe they’re lighter and better ventilated, that’s great! If they’re made of the same shell material as the Canopy and Ascender pants, they should be very durable. I’ll have to check them out, and pick up a pair to try out.

By no means scientific, but the Dogwoods are a half pound lighter and have bigger mesh ventilation patches.

I fucking love my dogwood saw pants. After putting some hours in them, it’s a tough contrast when I go to put the zeroes back on.

Ordered my second pair of zeros a little while ago wishing I would've held off a bit now, zeros will probably be the nicer winter pant for me though.

just saw these solidur "climb" chainsaw pants

for 180$ i think i might have to jump on it

I've been eye balling them. Emailed Bartlett about the inseam lengths. If anyone is interested here's the response:

FWIW, I have a pair of the cheaper Solider pants. I normally wear 36x34 (sometimes 32). The XL fit perfectly.

Dogwoods were delivered today while I was at work. Tried them on when I got home. I've only used zeros. Immediately noticed the weight difference, they feel less bulky when I'm wearing them, and just wearing them around the house I feel like mobility will be improved. Nice stretchy material, super comfortable, light weight, and they fit true to size. Can't wait to start working in them and see how they do long term.

How is the cut of the dogwoods around the ankles? I don't like having extra baggy material flopping around my boots, which is why I always opt for my Breathflex Pros over my Zeros.

I would call them straight cut. They fit nicely over my Haix. I don't have to wrestle them over the boot, but also don't have a bunch of loose material. Much better cut than the Ironwoods.

I've lounged around the house in mine and even wear them on weekends during these cooler months. Much more casual looking than a lot of the other options out there and super comfortable. It's almost as if Lulu made a pair of saw pants.
