    Wave Action Rescue Method

I've been using the Rope Runner Pro for several months now and wonder if I rely on it too much? It would make sense to backup the device (at least sometimes) with a simple prusik which would help in this and other potential user-error situations.

    New climber, looking for guidance

New guy here, too. I've been doing climbing jobs steady now for about 10 months. It's been kind of like being in college and boot camp all at the same time. Learning daily. Hang in!

    What’s Your SMALLER Equipment Setup?

I just roll with a truck, trailer, saws, climbing gear, trash can, some traffic cones, rake, broom, and a couple of carts to haul wood. Works for me. I like to keep things simple and enjoy the workout.

    Tree Work Estimator

In an effort to stop bidding half or a third of what a job is worth, I cooked up this treework estimator. I'm guessing y'all have different considerations given the nature of your gigs, but this is what I've been using to bid jobs lately. My quote process goes like this: Start with your base...

    Home made lowering device

Reading back through this old post I'm surprised to see few examples, even not in 2021, of DIY Porta Wraps. I'll try my hand at one soon and post pics

    Advice on Solo Removals

    Critter Stories

I swear, there is a squirrel hiding at the top of every tree this winter. This one freaked me out! But instead of jumping for it, like some do, this one just ran down past me. Better than the bat I had last summer.

    New Article Up

Dunno if I agree with that "go with a single social media page." I tend to think that Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube (the three I focus on) work differently and drive business in different ways. I mean, I get that social media work is not everyone's cup of tea, but a broad online footprint can...

best youtube channels for a beginner climber?

Oh yeah, just rewatched that vid: I no longer use that thin orange lanyard. It was also a DIY one but I prefer the feel of a thicker rope.

best youtube channels for a beginner climber?

I run a steel core lanyard and a much longer DIY one, often using the longer one as an anchor

    Chainsaw lanyard: yea or nay?

Another sewer! Yeah, I do the same thing ... make my slings, too. Dang those things are expensive store bought.

    Social Media Messages Business Page

About 1/2 my my quote requests and inquiries come in over social media (Facebook, sometimes Instagram, YouTube, and Yelp) ... I have no problem with it and see it as just another communication channel.

    Kickin' it Old School

So cool to learn more about the pic! I just love the idea of those dudes climbing that beast of a tree via ladder, then spanning out all over the place.

Now that's a ladder! Came across this image while looking for a new knee ascender. These guys didn't use no knee ascenders.
