Yeah, I knew a slic pin would work, just didn't have one. The goal was to make one in a couple hours out of only what I had on hand. I ended up using a piece 9mm front bicycle axle with part of a qr skewer to hold it on. The axle spins a little like I imagine the slic pin would. I'll probably...
Made in one evening of stuff I had just lying around, that I wasn't using for anything else. I haven't put body weight on it yet, but it seems to tend and grab all right.
About 90 feet of All Gear Rocket Line. It was an old retired rope that I washed to bring the color back. I thought it made for a too thick/too small rug, so I took it apart. Maybe I’ll use it for rope swings or something else non life support.
I'm glad you healed up all right. Almost makes you think of a medieval battle wound.
If you're gonna get cut, sharp is good. I put a hatchet through one of my digits many years ago, but since it was a sharp new Estwing and cut cleanly, all they had to do was stitch it back on and give me...
I wish mine had the cobra hood. I’ll probably end up making one for it some day. A shackle key would also be nice, like on the Atlantic Salt. Can't expect products to be perfect, though.

Spiderco Assist Salt. Opens fast, cuts tensioned cordage quickly, and has a rescue tip for cutting things away from humans without cutting them.
I dyed the handle indigo and softened some of the handle corners for better...
The question is this: Why can't you climb SRT on just a hitch?
My understanding: The way we tie hitches for DRT does not work for SRT, because the hitch will bind up, making descent impossible.
But why? If you are 200lbs climbing DRT with a hitch on some kind of pulley saver, your hitch and...
I don't know a whole lot about Trump and his policies, but I have noticed that in the last four years we have been generally left alone, which I appreciate. It hasn't seemed to me that the "rules" were changing all that often or dramatically, and I like that stability.
I have heard, though not...
I think I remember at some point it was mentioned that people were removing the core from 16 strand Arbormaster ropes so they would fit in the TM plates.....
Well, I just tried and found that you can fit AM in the holes without removing the core. It's a tight fit, but it does work.
There are...

Took forever to find it, but I'm pretty sure that's the hardware from the old Treestuff product.
Selling my lightly used 2019 ZigZag. I used it on a couple climbs, but soon after got a rope runner and haven't used it since. I just haven't found myself wanting to climb DRT after getting into SRT.
12.5mm HTP, 105'. $70 +shipping. I purchased this in Sept. 2020 and carried around a bit, but it never got used. Listed on ebay, but I can also just do Paypal. PayPal preferred. Shipping will probably be $12-$15 in the US.

My experience with Corona Razor Tooth blades (the handsaws they supply at work) is that they cut extremely well when they are new and sharp. But when they go dull, the cutting performance drops very quickly, and they are just a pain to use. Compared to my Sugoi (used to be) 420. :(
