Sometimes, its the really simple stuff like ratchet strapping limb bundles to make carrying them easier, that's staring you right in the face the whole time. Brilliant idea that I've never considered, thanks for sharing!
I bought one about a month ago, our local shop had them really early. I haven't even used it yet! I'm a solo admin/field staff muni guy so it's rare that I can actually do tree work lately. It has a 24" bar, was hoping it would've come with a bigger bar but the shop wasn't willing to work with...
I've done it plenty over the years, often preceded by a half hitch, which takes most of the weight. I don't use the carabiner for most negative block spar rigging, only lighter weight stuff. Always a steel carabiner, on a tight eye splice or a cinching knot to maintain the proper loading axis...
I think the most alarming part of this post is the fact that you say- "Why is a question I never ask my homeowners when they choose to remove a healthy tree. Knowing why is not my business. My business is to fulfill their wishes."
You never ask why someone wants to remove a healthy tree?! I...

Kinda sad for a city with about 12% canopy coverage.
I was living near Kettle Falls, WA during the FMI fiasco.
I'm probably the last person to give climbing advice, but here goes... Instead of/in addition to varying the attachment point, have you considered varying the length of the bungee? Sorry if I'm missing something or being pedantic, not my aim.
I chalk my experience up to bad timing, poor customer service, maybe less than competent mechanics and a post covid "IDGAF it's not my problem" world that we seem to be in. The winch I bought used is the exact winch that would have been installed on my machine, had the original buyer optioned it...
Yea the winch itself was all there and works well, in my case, but it was missing some plumbing and small parts that were specific to my machine. All in, it probably cost me about as much as it would have had I just went to a Bandit dealer and bought new. In my case, the nearest dealer was 2.5...
My chipper is a 2016 Bandit 1390XP with the winch plate from factory. The takeoff winch was from a similar vintage 18" Bandit and to be clear, the used winch wasn't the problem. Before purchasing it from the Buzz, I got all of the info from the takeoff chipper and winch-serial numbers, and...
A few years ago, I was lucky to find one on the buzz from a guy who removed it because it was getting in the way of machine loading, and he didn't use it. Getting it mounted and plumbed and functional was a whole massive issue and it still doesn't quite work like it should. Good luck! A chipper...
Purely anecdotal, but when I was working in LA last year, after the fires, there were heavy equipment crews everywhere. Most were running Ford F550 if they had that size category of truck in the fleet. I had the opportunity to talk to a heavy equipment field mechanic for a while, and I was...
I've benefitted by securing jobs with it- municipal arborist roles and post wildfire tree risk assessment roles. TBH, I've only ran the thorough TRAQ form perhaps a couple of dozen times, but it's a worthwhile credential for me. I'm definitely not happy with the new ISA though. Poor website...
