Fair enough. Except next week some rabid Republican prosecutor in, I don’t know, Des Moines (who ran on the promise of “getting” Biden) could indict him for God knows what. Indictments are soooo easy. And then we’re really off to the races at the Banana Republic Olympics. Be better to avoid that and just not elect him again, right? (Talking about Trump)

Where do we as a nation draw the fucking line. How much should our leaders and elites be able to get away with.. I myself say nothing. And if a state prosecutor somewhere has evidence that Biden committed crimes in his jurisdiction he has a duty to do his job and hold Biden accountable.

I agree in principle, except at that level they’re all guilty of something for an ambitious enough prosecutor. Just as an example, a Republican prosecutor could absolutely have indicted Hilllary on any number of charges a few years ago. Doesn’t mean he/she could prove them, or even that they’re legit, but some damage would have been done. Not a good look when talking about Presidential level figures. It really should be airtight and head smackingly obvious when we accuse them of crimes. So far, this isn’t.

No one has shown the public the evidence as of yet. You and those like you are assuming a lot. I keep hearing weak case coming from people, but those people, along with the rest of us have zero clue what evidence has been presented to the Grand Jury.
All you are going by is things you have heard from people who don't know either.
Why doesn't everybody chill out for a while and wait until the case has come to trial and see what the facts are as to how strong a case it is.
You are the one with the law degree so your opinion on the merits of this case holds a lot more weight than the rest of the riff raff around here.

A person is guilty of falsifying business records in the first degree
when he commits the crime of falsifying business records in the second
degree, and when his intent to defraud includes an intent to commit
another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof.
Falsifying business records in the first degree is a class E felony.

I’m aware of 175. It’s only a felony if, as above, there is intent to commit another crime. It’s the OTHER CRIME I’m a tad curious about. It has to be federal, since NY state statute of limitations is 5 years for a felony of this type and it’s been 8 years.
You don’t know because Bragg won’t say. He has reasons, likely related to double jeopardy. But it could be and will be argued that this indictment is insufficient on its face since it simply omits the necessary underlying crime.

So if the “other crime” is NY state election law then the statute has run. In certain circumstances the statute can be extended or “tolled”- like if Trump was continuously out of the state. No doubt prosecution will try this if necessary.
If it’s federal election law then this is novel territory. As I said above, I’ve never heard of a “state federal” charge. Especially one that the federal government has not charged him with! Borders on the absurd.
But I’m no expert. Alan Dershowitz thinks he will be convicted, such is the hatred in Manhattan for the man.
