Nah Pete is a little over an hour from me down here it's a little too much travel time. I tried to use him last week, on a job a bit closer to him, but he had a front tire blow and couldn't make it to the job.
I've been using bobs crane for a few years now. They own 6 cranes and occasionally rent a 7th so there's a lot of selection and choice when doing a job.

My earmuff broke in my Kask so had to use my old petzl! Weird not having the Sena in it and not being able to talk to the guys !!! Got it all fixed up now ! And yes I went back for that stub if anyone was going to say it!

Thanks, Levi. Lovin' the backyard removal. Yesterday we humped 150 linear feet of white birch rounds out of a back yard, up 10 uneven rock steps, to stack it in the driveway. That was hours 10-11.5 of the day. Fun.

Today's job. ..not so glorious. Probably 36 inches in diameter where it snapped off. Smashed completely through their bedroom. Broke all of the trusses. High voltage lines running in front of house and along entire driveway. No crane access

Yes Levi, silver maple. The best solution we could think of was to rent a telescoping forklift. We tied logs off to it and lifted them off, small pieces at a time. Worked pretty good actually

Knuckleboom are perfect for picks and then moving the pick under the wires.
This job in particular was under a complete canopy. Maple trim and Pine removal. Picks were lifted then retracted swung toward road towards the right and then extended and fed into the chipper. No dragging and no raking between cut and chip

So, I got this call for a large red oak that fell on this boat house. Tree fell and got hung up into a large White oak. The boat house is not the best constructed house ever. But, it held up to the force. Of course the homeowners wanted no more damage to the boat house. Which is silly because it should be torn down and rebuilt.

Anyways. Went out with the crane. Worked off the back. Went real slick. Two guys, in and out in 7 hours. There was supposed to be 4 of us on this job, but the owner (me) scheduled it when two guys were on vacation. Still not too bad for a days work with two guys.

The last log I picked so it wouldn't settle on the boat house. It weighed 4800 once completely cut from the stump. I was good for 7K. I love having my own crane. We were able to jump on this job rather quickly.

Boom is only 57' of live hydraulic extension - good for 2200lbs - 69' with plug in jib at around 1500lbs. Truck is less than 35' long and weighs in at about 34.5k. Super turning radius and 450hp Cat w/ 10 speed trans. Bed capacity around 15k lbs

Good deal, Royce, your trucks are looking real nice. What did you do with the wood?

We loaded all the wood on the log truck and took it back to the yard where it gets sorted. The main oak log will be firewood. we also took down a stone dead pine tree. That will be shipped to a company that grinds it for mulch.

Not my favourite place to be, practically horizontal to my TIP, directly above transmission. Had to zip line the canopy of this badly leaning Siberian elm over the lines and back into the front yard. Pucker factor high.
