who here uses a throwline?

Yeah, really, Mac, I would take you much more seriously if Ash had a helmet with a mohawk. I'm off to hang myself with my throwline.

there's too much babying going on these days. Maybe this ain't the best forum to put the hammer down on somebody though.

I'm going to be blunt with the moderators...

STOP BABYING RIGGS AND BAN HIM.

How's that for a piece of advice?

RIGGS IS THE ONE BEING CODDLED HERE, MAKE NO MISTAKE.

This thread still got life, reminds me of that thread back when with the dude roping half a tree down I think from a forty foot bucket or some such nonsense...a howl I tell ya...bob is now disoriented...blah blah...no one wants babying but kindness and respect should not be too hard...whatever..this thread sucks...it's been decimated...blah blah

If Bob came back on here with a pic of him tossing with his new throwline all could be forgiven. (Even Tom's plea to ban Riggs)lol He got rid of the gf so bring on the throwline, Bob!

Nope I didn't get scared away I work in Rhode Island Monday through Friday and have no computer out there.

When you come back from RI send me your address and I ship you a free magthrowbag so you can get max use of that throwline your using.

Again, welcome to the buzz, in spite of this little exchange, this truly is the best forum and you will learn a lot and find some great "self training" opportunities, even from some of the old timers.

Wake up and smell the coffee.. this is a good ol boys club...

advice to Bob..

get yourself a big shot on an 8' pole... 10 oz bags (one on each end), a cube and 1.75mm zing it... you can get a heavier bag to switch out for rough bark etc..

This is one of th ebest returns on investment you can get in this biz... mine paid for itself on the first job..

That's what deserves a quote. You guys get wrapped up in the emotional stuff and miss the real words of advice. Relax....

Geez guys...do any of you have children? Ever had someone tell you how to raise/discipline them? Is it any of your business?

In all the years that TB has been around there is always some character that isn't liked by everyone. so what?! That's part of life. If you don't like them...put them on ignore.

Anytime we've edited/deleted a post there is a firestorm of indignation and rants about free speech...even if the Constitution applied here, which it doesn't because TB is not the US Government, if someone says something, which they can, they MUST be ready for consequences.

Maybe there's a different definition of a good ol' boys club. The one I've known for years is exculsionary and entry is controlled and regulated. That is NOT the way things are done here. Anyone can register, or not, lurking is allowed, and they'll be approved. No one has been denied entry but a very few have been told to leave. Hardly a good ol' boys club.

Do what you want...but remember there is an Ignore feature you can use.

The whining here and banning of members is whats dragging this professional forum. I ride my guys butts like a new thong, but that is why my 6 month climber climbed circles around this ten year climber two weeks ago. My competition, old employers, and old employees say I'm cocky, that i am ocd about everything, that i am to hard on people, but the truth is i have almost died on a job, i have broken equipment, i have snapped rigging and miraculously i have lived through it all and made money; that is all i want from my guys not to die, to go home everyday unhurt, don't break equipment, and make money for me and for themselves. There is no room for baby cakes in this business or any other for that matter (other than daycare). We have lost a lot of good members over banning. In my opinion it is quite candy azz to be so offend by anyone on the internet. holly was awesome. master blaster was great too. even the idiot ol dirty was fine most of the time. get you panties off your eyes and take the lace off the feeling hanging on your sleeve, some people feel like they only win if they get someone booted. the forum has gone down hill since all these guys have been booted. the sweetie pies have gained control of this forum. hell we can't even have a good throw down here anymore. let the C___K Sucking commence

Id like to weigh in for army of darkness.

Ah the great Mr Greene, came stirred the pot and left...probably like so many before him...only the tough thick skinned survive the buzz...folk's will give you flak just deal with it and move on...Riggsy ain't bad he can be harsh....but so what we are tree people, we get harsh in more ways than that daily...I was just surprised by him ridiculing poor upstart Bob..but it wasn't all that...let's move on..get a nuff gun and hit them high crotches...

(Re. Jeff's post)...so you want the the buzz to resemble Arboristsite? (Not that I particularly care one way or the other; I'm a member there as well as the Treehouse)
I enjoy coming to the Buzz primarily to learn stuff, not engage in interpersonal mayhem (Mr. Greene and the ISA being exceptions).

The "characters" come and go. Some get banned from multiple forums.
A lively discussion with divergent opinions getting posted is a wonderful thing instead of a cult-worshipping bunch of North Korean lemmings praising a demagogue. Cliques are bad. No fun being on the "outside" instead of the "in" crowd.
