who here uses a throwline?

I actually have never been busier. Same for Aspen. Just felt like posting on these threads. I lurk every day and always have.

I have a hard time with some of these arguments because I know that they are simply a case of internet meetings. If these guys met face to face first they would like each other and end up buying a beer or three for them. Its they way we read things and the mood that we are in when we do. Its also the way we get persuaded by others ideas. That's the problem with email and other nonverbal media.

The thing about this thread is it's seems to be going like the Mr Greene thread....hey I think that thread hit 30 pages...maybe we can keep this shite alive..anyhow...I am going to the kitchen to practice throwline...anyone seen my harrison rockets...

I'm still practicing.

If I recall correctly there was a thread about a tree climber show on Nat Geo that really went south and people were warned for whatever bs they were spewing at that moment.
But this thread it's all cool to spew. Having trouble grasping the double whats it called.

YoYo,
If Bob doesn't get back to you, I'll get you his address to send that complimentary throw weight. Don't worry, I'll make sure it gets to him

I was a newbie not that long ago. I came here and asked alot of newbie questions. I think the difference may be as simple as the age of the newbie. I do not mean that in a bad way, it is just my opinion that with age comes the wisdom of life. I tried to phrase my questions in a way that would lead to discussions instead of yes/no answers. If Bob's question had been presnted something like this......

""Hey guys, I am trying to improve my climbing efficiency. I was wondering how small does the tree have to be for you guys to just say, I don't want the throwline, I will just scamper up it.""

Just my thoughts on maybe the reason the question got treated the way that it did.

This thread reps the throwline perfectly. It is the bees knees when the throw is good but at the same time it can be a big tangle. The frustrations voiced in this thread coincides with the frustration one feels when money is trickling down the drain trying to hit a good crotch. Welcome to the "throwline"!

Nowadays kids aren't even allowed to carry a pocketknife to school.
Perhaps a good thing considering the precarious state of their violent video game saturated little craniums.
Back in the day when I was a kid...

16' ladder + 21' polesaw = Any tree 40' or under, no throw line needed.

Lots of branches above 40', double lanyard ascension, no throw line needed.

Big trees = Big shot, and a tarp to catch the line and avoid tangles.

Does that about cover it?

If there is an unfunny topic it would be suicide. If you put a funny twist on it you'd be kidding yourself. If you don't know what I'm talking about, just stay that way you don't want to know.

I kinda wish 99% would go lemming off a cliff but they leave that 1% behind..

I was in Boston and lined up to go on the USS Constitution with a buddy. We both carried Swiss Army Knives. They would have been confiscated but we held onto each others knife while the other did the tour. I bet we could have brought a throwline/bag onto Old Ironsides though...dodged the derail.

Had to say it Tom. I know I've been over treebuzzing with stupid stuff. The revenuers have my account, again, I've got a bid in on my first bucket and it's the January full moon. I'll try and prethink my posts.

Hello, My name is Bevin and I'm a treebuzz addict.
