Trees from a distance

yes Banjo, you are the lucky winner! This tree was about 25'-30' tall when I took the photo and is at the Cornell Plantations Arboretum in Ithaca. Check it out if you ever get a chance. Ithaca is "gorges"!

well, i thought i knew my trees... guess i was wrong. i've never heard of an oxydendrum in my life I'll never forget it now.

Amur Cork Trees are really nice too. Wait a minute...maybe that's what it was? Now I'm not sure. I took that picture almost 2 years ago. Somebody is gonna have to go to the Cornell Plantations and find it. Isn't there a Buzzer from Cornell?

There are both Cork Trees and Sourwoods at the Plantations. It is definitely not a Walnut that's for sure. I'll confirm it next time I go up there. For now, let's say Tom is the winner since he let me play through.
