Trees from a distance

no, not copper beech. not European, not purple.... but...

I was the climber in that tree for the removal and had previously done work in it as well. So I definitely know what it was.

and where is banjo? His has gotta be Silver Maple.
 
I am almost convinced now that this tree is a Fraxinus of some sort. Caroliniana or quadrangulata. Good grief, Ted, whatever it is, it's ugly and uncommon.

Jeff, how do you explain the opposite twigs in the picture? That's what is killing me. The only native trees with opposite branching and compound leaves are Fraxinus and A. negundo. Maybe the pic is deceiving!
