Trees from a distance

I don't like my first guess. The tree looks like a Cladrastis, but obviously it wouldn't be the state champ at that size, so I'm changing my guess. Just not sure what I'm changing it to yet.

Well Tom it is a Yellow Wood , and I know It is small for the species . We have removed much larger from campus in the past . For some reason the current state champ is smaller than this one . Go figure
 
Cool. I guess I should have officially guessed hahaha!

I have tons of tough pics from my cross country road trip in December, but they are currently on my wife's computer. If someone else wants to post one, feel free, I'll catch up later.

Sorry to backtrack but that Cercis canadensis, 'Forest Pansy' is gorgeous.

Anyway, let's try this tree out...
