Hey - come on! Don't tell me Billy Blue 's gone belly up?

Pez, It is still blue/green and standing!

The real test will not be over until this time next year. We are in an extreme drought situation (my private well went dry and a new one will be drilled this week) and trees are strugling around here. Lots of "fall" color. If the tree is able to make it through the next couple of seasons, the roots should be established enough for the long haul. I will keep you posted.

Ah.... I dream of draught; we've had so much rain over hear, I'm glad I live on a hill! Still, the trees seem to like it - Giant Redwoods here are 150 years old max, yet still average 120ft x 8ft!

I hope Billy survives the summer - consider me inspired to research the latest establishment techniques!

hey mark the best thing you can do for the tree is use a bio stimulant the best bet is to use fortified liquid seaweed it helps increase cell wall permeability and helps increase translocation of water and will also increase chlorophyll production and it will make the plant more tolerant of drought stress and increase the plants vigor i been using the product for about 5 years and it is the most amazing stuff i ever used you can also add fertilizer to it and micro total as well .in your case i would only use the seaweed until next year because the fert will only shock the plant and do more harm than good and the great thing about the seaweed is you can repeat every 30 days . a good source for this product is roots inc in independence mo it can be purchased in quanitys as small as 2.5 gallons and is easly shipped and is 100% organic and is not that exspensive .i pride myself in plant health care and have brouht many plants back from near death and any good program starts with biostimulants such as arborkelp.it realy works and if you use it you to will be a beleiver to hope this helps
