There is probably no God

Re: Christianity

Wow, if you want to start a fight talk about politics, religion or money right?

One thing that is consistant with both sides of the arguement. Rationale for each chooses only the points that fit with their perspective. For example those that despair over the negative of the natural world question how an omnipitant creator can cruelly allow the negative to occur.

If I recall that issue is addressed at the begining of the Judeo-Christian faith. Whereby mankind, caught in the middle of a supernatural struggle between good and evil, and bearing the ability for free choice, opened 'pandora's box' and as a result we participate in a natural world contaminated by death and decay. According to many faiths death and decay are imperfections of the natural world, and to break the bounds of these laws (3rd law of Thermodynamics: all things are in a state of enthalpy, or moving towards randomness) we feel we must participate in this supernatural struggle between good and evil.
Humans have a carnal bond to this supernatural stuggle whether we chose to quantify/qualify it via religious faith or faith that religion is wrong. Or whether we simply watch television every night. CSI....good vs. evil. Band of Brothers.....god vs. evil. Space channel shows.....good vs. evil.
Like it or not, if you care enough to view a show such as these, it is a relationship between you and your carnal need to observe good vs. evil.

And remarkably, humans/I have an inability to think about every possible perspective when creating viewpoints. Perspectives are broken from focus by the lens of personal issue/agenda/fear/pain/resentment/love/desire/hope......so as a result, bear this in mind when you ponder the direction of mine and everyone else's comment.

Re: Christianity

How many prefer Neil Young over Jackson Brown?

Was he thinkin' about my country
Or the color of my skin?
Was he thinkin' 'bout my religion
And the way I worshipped him?
Did he create just me in his image
Or every living thing?

When God made me
When God made me

Was he planning only for believers
Or for those who just have faith?
Did he envision all the wars
That were fought in his name?
Did he say there was only one way
To be close to him?

When God made me
When God made me

Did he give me the gift of love
To say who I could choose?

When God made me
When God made me

Did he give me the gift of voice
So some could silence me?
Did he give me the gift of vision
Not knowing what I might see?
Did he give me the gift of compassion
To help my fellow man?

When God made me
When God made me

Re: Christianity

Can I like both? I like the Giants and the A's. My friends have always insisted I pick one or the other as if liking both is a serious character flaw.
