yeah, that was Mark 4:16 "And lo, when thou comest upon a tree standing in the field, thou shalt smite it with thine sword of righteousness, and if thou dost not have thine sword, then perhaps a hatchet wouldst do, for all trees are an abomination unto my father"
I guess you know he was anxious and filled with despair because he was always turning things into wine, to drown his sorrows.
Dude. You do go on, don't you?
P.S. I don't want to hear any bible quotes from you to show he was a depressed tree-hater. You don't like the bible anyway. Thanks.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was being flippant and I was referring to the incident with the Fig Tree. Relax dude yes I do go on because I like to exchange ideas and debate unlike you who tries to stifle a debate with your petty little rant. Goodbye dude!

[/ QUOTE ]

Whoa there, big boy. I'm not trying to stop you from "exchanging ideas" You yourself said you were being flippant, and you were talking about the guy many people feel strongly is god. Now, I don't believe that, and I might say things around my friends that many would think blasphemous, but this is a public forum. Even if you are debating things you should still take into account other's feelings about things so deeply personal. But it is obvious from many of your posts you like to be somewhat confrontational, hence my joking post about your flippancy. "Petty rant" I'm not sure about. A little sardonic, maybe. Sorry.

Why shouldn't Christians have to defend their faith?

What marks them out from everyone else?

Why should they get treated with kid gloves?

This forum states 'people who are thin skinned should maybe not enter'

Sorry

Re: Christianity

Corinthians 1:18-32
18 For the Word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, "I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE, AND THE CLEVERNESS OF THE CLEVER I WILL SET ASIDE."
20 Where is the wise man Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
22 for indeed Jews ask fo signs and Greeks search for wisdom;
23 but we preach christ crucified, to Jews a a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness,
24 but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishnes of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 for consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty,not many noble;
27 but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong,
28 and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are,
29 so that no man may boast before God.
30 But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, adn righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
31 so that, just as it is written, "LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD."

Mathew 5:7-11
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the Peacemakers, for be called sons of God.
10 Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.

Romans 12:17-21
17 Never pay back evil fo evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.
18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.
19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY" says the Lord.
20 "BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD."
21 Do no be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 1:18-32

18 For the wrath of God is revealed form heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness,
19 because that which is known about God is evident to them.
20 For sice the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Profession to be wise, they became fools,
23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
Corinthians 1:18-32

Jay: I know you have read the bible in its entirety. But, according to God, he said that you are with no excuse. That His creation... is His evidence... (Romans 1:20)

But, you don't want to hear that. Because if the words settled in you, you would have to be accountable to him now.--And you don't want to deal with that.

I will give you 2 names to summorize it: Dylan Klebold & Eric Harris.

If you'd like to hear what I was going through at that age let me know. I'll send you a personal message. But, I will warn you. There was a lot of crap in my life at the time.

Re: Christianity

[ QUOTE ]
Then the Christians came and told us we could only worship one God at that was it. No choice.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmm. No choice? Really? Common. The history of Christianity has tolerated other forms of religion.

Our nation was founded and formed by men who were mostly Christians. They allowed "choice" in this nation for a reason. You may have heard of it, it is called "freedom of religion."-----Who would have thunk it? Christian leaders forming a country allowing their people (for many generations to come) to be able to choose their faith?

Common bro, you can make better generalizations than that.

I bet lots of you readers are thinking of the Crusades, right? Don't worry. I covered my tracks before I made a statement like I did about the history of Christianity.

First of all, the Crusades were deffensive battles. Muslims were attacking the Europeans. (Non-tolorant Muslims). Out of retaliation, the Crusades happened.

Boy am I glad I live in a tolorant country!--Oh, wait! Christians are not tolerated anymore, are they?

Hey Crazy Jimmy! I like the scripture, but what was the point for posting it? I'd ask you personally, but you are not accepting personal messages.

I Peter 3:14-15
But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED, but santify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;

Mark 16:15-16
And He said to them, <font color="red">"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has belived and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned." </font>

Proverbs 28:1
The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion.

Hebrews 13:5-6
Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, " I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU," so that we confidently say, "THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME?"

Acts 18-9-10
And the Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision, <font color="red">"Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent; for I am with you, and no man will attack you in order to harm you, for I have many people in this city." [color]

I have waited patiently. Is there any response for my first post in this thread?

"Ignore for a minute two things:
1) All the stupid formulas by the scientists,
2) Any lame excuse; such as "The lord works in mysterious ways."

Just go with your heart. Is it right or is it wrong? No excuses from either side.

1) A baby born with birth defects. God would be fair.
2) A baby born with both sets of sexual organs. God would not only be fair, he would not be the type of practical joker that would regard homosexuality as abominable behavior and then create impossible scenarios for people to achieve his/(her?) specifications.
3) A baby going to hell because it died before it was baptized. A hard and fast rule for Christianity, but is that fair?
Look within yourself, ignore all the theories, do right and wrong matter?"

Oh well, time to move on.

Why was Jesus wrong about one of his most important statements; "The time of God is at hand."?

Early Christians believed in an imminent second coming. Guess they were wrong too.

Wait a minute. Is it possible Jesus was right? That would make all of us post-RAPTURE. Why that could be true!

Think about it, Christianity is set up in the fourth century to stop observing the Sabbath and most Christians now observe the Sun Gods day. (Was the devil behind this)
Think about it, Jesus said to go into your private room to pray unto the father. Not in a public boisterous manner like the Pharisees. (This has to be one of the devils great achievements. Think how he must rejoice watching SUNDAY morning TV!)
Think about it, all the other ways most Christians do not follow the Bible.

Think about it, if we are post rapture, this thread is moot.

I have responded to the other situations that you mentioned(see previous posts about Justice/Fairness) but i did not respond to the baby baptism.....

this is just not true. If you call the catholic faith all of christanity, then your statement is true.

but this "Donomination" of christianity is what i consider a Cult. when you need to answer to a priest and not God himself, what would you call that? Who is the largest land owner in the world besides for government? I do not align myself with this "religon" for these reasons. There are plenty of good people that do not care about these things, and if they can find me i will be burned at the stake for hairacy. I have just opened another can of worms im sure

Well, you sure have opened a can of worms, in fact you have shown that you are typical of all religions in that you are totally intolerant of each other's ideas. A cult!

ArborAddict! are you hearing this?

This guy just called your religion a Cult.

Christianity is a personality cult, the cult of Jesus Christ, and you have shown by your comments that you are just another fully signed up brainwashed member!
