There is probably no God

You look like quite a happy person. Stay away from Lovelock it only leads you to dark places.

I am Axe,

I don't know what you are talking about, who is that guy.
All I know is that Gaia is an ancient god that was the god of the earth.
So if we f uck up big time Gaia will take revenge (and you know how much credit I give a god

)
Don't see the future as a big black hole but see it as a challenge and make the best of it.

Treespotter - Its a very good read.

James Lovelock -The Revenge of Gaia A basic outline, but better to read some newspaper reviews of it.

Available at most bookshoops or Amazon, you would probably find his other book The Gaia Hypothesis very interesting as well.

With its daisy world model. Its fascinating, about the Earth as a self regulating organism, and how we are upsetting the balance.

Google 'Daisyworld' for a fascinating incite into James Lovelock's ideas.

Oh well, time to move on.

Why was Jesus wrong about one of his most important statements; "The time of God is at hand."?

Early Christians believed in an imminent second coming. Guess they were wrong too.

[/ QUOTE ]
Hey, I covered this; did you read it?

[ QUOTE ]
Wait a minute. Is it possible Jesus was right? That would make all of us post-RAPTURE. Why that could be true!

[/ QUOTE ]
This too.

[ QUOTE ]
Think about it, Christianity is set up in the fourth century to stop observing the Sabbath and most Christians now observe the Sun Gods day. (Was the devil behind this)
Think about it, Jesus said to go into your private room to pray unto the father. Not in a public boisterous manner like the Pharisees. (This has to be one of the devils great achievements. Think how he must rejoice watching SUNDAY morning TV!)
Think about it, all the other ways most Christians do not follow the Bible.

[/ QUOTE ]
Covered most of that, too. Under the covenant with the Israelites, the "observe-God" day was the last day of the week. The early Christians (already mentioned in the N.T. writings) gathered on the first.

[ QUOTE ]
Think about it, if we are post rapture, this thread is moot.

[/ QUOTE ]
Covered that, too. Show me where the scriptures record anything being said/written about a rapture (meaning the current commonly-held idea of Christians being removed before the badness hits).

Read my couple of long posts and get back if/where you disagree.

I'm sorry. I am unable to find your response to the justice of babies being created by a great and good creator that gave them birth defects. In particular, I await an answer from anyone on why God would choose to create subservient beings that have both sets of genital organs and then demand that they be heterosexual.

With regard to the Catholicism sect and baby baptism, you are correct. It does lead to where do babies go? "No way to the Father but through me" leaves no options. So if babies aren't knowledgeable enough for choosing baptism? Why worry about abortion? (Sidebar).

Would God create a religion where it had so many changes of such ignorance that they often contradict each other?

Sabbath or Sun God Day? (Seventh Day Adventists vs. others)
Baby Baptism or not? (Catholic and a few others vs. the rest)
Jesus is God or isn't? (Early church & Jehovah’s Witnesses vs. the rest)
and so forth.....

Part of the reason these things need to be discussed openly is that the different sects of Christianity are so varying.
Why would there be a religion with so many changes unless it was created by man?
Why does every single book or book portion of the Dead Sea Scrolls vary from our current Bible?

Overwhelming evidence.

I will give you 2 names to summorize it: Dylan Klebold & Eric Harris.

If you'd like to hear what I was going through at that age let me know. I'll send you a personal message. But, I will warn you. There was a lot of crap in my life at the time.

If there is only one thing i know, it is that there is a "GOD"!!! GOD is like oxygen in that just because you can't see it or grab it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist! But without it you can't truly "live"!!! (warning this statement from a person that doesn't attend church)

It is possable to have both sets of reproductive organs and still lead a heterosexual life.... are you aware of the x and y chromozones? you are either a boy or a girl. the reproductive organs are not what classifies us into a gender.... it would make for a interesting "private life" but it still is possable. I know a man that has both a hoo-hoo, and a ho-ha.... and he is married with three kids.

I see some of the posts that were made about my taking on the catholic church.... and those of you that say that i am toting the party line.... you are wrong. i do not claim to be anything but a follower of God through Jesus, i do not think that organized religon(for the most part) is the answer to all of our problems.

Know what you believe, you arn't going to heaven or hell on your parents(or anyone elses) beliefs.

[/ QUOTE ]

For your information: a true Christian doesn't believe he/she belongs to a "religion." A true Christian believes he/she has a relationship with God through prayer and reading the scriptures (His word). That's it!

Anyway.

We arborists have many debatable "secondary issues." However, we are arborists at heart and practice.
wink.gif
We have an unusual love for trees and we have an unsual bond.

Now! Sure there are different denominations in Christianity, however, they differ only on the basis of "secondary issues." The different denominations agree on the "primary issue." --Which is, the means to salvation. Which we believe it is through Jesus Christ alone.--Not by our works. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

The "secondary issues" vary due to interpretations on theology, practices, or traditions. --These are where man gets in the way. Jesus didn't like man's traditions getting in the way of having a relationship with Him or His Father.

It is the secular man who defines "religion" as religion. I don't know if that makes since or not.

Your statement:
"are you aware of the x and y chromozones? you are either a boy or a girl."

Again, you missed out in High School biology.
THERE ARE XXY's etc.

God apparently flunked out in biology also or we're back to God being the practical joker. Somebody mention Bob Dylan? Now what song would I be thinking of?

The key point here is not that, "It is possable to have both sets of reproductive organs and still lead a heterosexual life." It is also not possible for many.

RemovalWizard, have you ever heard of a Chimera?
Where do they fit in?

Re: Christianity

Notahacker:

Would those Christians that do not believe Christ was God, part of a trilogy, be part of a secondary issue?

Now why is it that having a Bible, full of contradictions, promotes so many of these issues?

Why have both the Old and New Testaments had so many alterations over the years?

At what point do additional prophets, Jim Jones, Joseph Smith, and David Koresh(sp?) become secondary issues?
