The Body Language of Tree Workers

It is so funny how five hours of play time can lead to such silliness

None of what was deleted had a THING to do with the current topic.

In rigging parlance: Glad I didn't have to deal with all the usual Bollocks Tom!

Tree workers have different signs of wear. They come in different shapes and sizes.

From tubby to lean. I have seen both rawk at production work. Of course big forearms tell a lot.

Different signs of wear and tear is true, but there are typical traits.

So, big forearms = production hero? Could cut alot of crap at the interview stage. Mine are 14" - would I get the job?

Nathan obviously studies other climber's forums very closely.

Monkey strength is what you need. They've got small forearms but excellent strength to weight ratio.

Muscle climbers are old news.

Muscle groundies are good though.

You can tell a lot by the forearms. In Germany I hired 2 climbers with small forearms. Scottish runts no less. They weren't much good at trees, but the sure could lift a pint.

Funny that, worked in D.C. a few years years back, started with a company, a week later me and Carlos are introduced to our new climber 'X'. Talked himself up bigtime, real treeclimbing hero, turned out to be a major bullsh*tter.
He volunteered to distmantle a 120ft Tulip on his 1st day, came down after 45 mins nearly crying.

Where was he from? Austin, Texas no less.

Had to teach the guy from scratch.

On a positive note he was a cool guy, small forearms as well.
