Texas tree climbing championship

I walked away with the feeling that "after the competition is before the competition."

i.e. - Time to get planning for next year.

That was a blast and yes, nice trees.

I can't thank organizers enough Keith and Nevic did great. Y'all had months of planning to provide us with 2 days of fun.

Kristian and Rich brought an awesome energy to the event. Wouldn't have been the same without those guys.

Jimmy, AZ great job!

I'll dig up a pic or 2..

Hey tree guys - I got to go to the competition this past weekend, well part of it anyway. I had never seen a climb before - it was such a blast to watch. My sons were with me, and now my younger one (12 yrs old) is telling me he's gonna be an arborist!

Shout out to treelimbjimmy...

Hey, welcome Sprout. Glad you enjoyed it. Good to hear from a spectator.

Your boys now see what might be in front of them. It was fun to take them up after the competition. Kevin was spot on about you not being nervous seeing your sons climb for the first time. Hats off to my teachers.

So, TxTCC 2013? They'll have my daughters to go up against.

Hey there - hats off to your teachers and hats off to you for taking care of them and showing them a great time. Great time for all of us! Got some super pics too - unfortunately we only got to see the very end of the competition.

TxTCC2013? I saw your daughters climb - my boys have some real work to do if they want to compete with them :)

Dang it! Grrrrr. I've just ordered my first gear (finally) and am about to start climbing. Now I find out that the Texas Tree Climbing Championships were just held a few days ago just a couple miles from me! D'oh! I did nothing last weekend. I would have loved watching that. Ah well.. that's what I get for not checking the message boards often enough... *sigh.. Peace..

Orion - if you ever get to check out a competition, just dont ask Jim Dunlap for directions ... you might miss the event.

Congrats to all the competitors and everyone involved from the Texas TCC!!! Toni, Kristian, and I had a blast meeting everyone and look forward to next years event. Nevic and the Texas Chapter put on one heck of a show and I learned many valuable lessons that will help to make our Ohio Chapter event run a little better.

The incredible climbing and absolute comradery amongst the climbers was truly excellent to watch and I can't thank your Chapter enough for allowing us to be part of it. Extra huge congrats go to Vicente, Miguel, Jimmy, and Abram for taking on the monster that was the Master Climb. You guys impressed the hell out of all of us. WAY TO GO !!!!!

I will try to get some pics up soon (including the sushi feast)

no, no, no, thank you, Rich! You are awesome, and my master climb was very uninspiring. My favorite part of the championship was hanging with you, Toni, and Kristian(and of course, Crazy J)
You and your awesome splicing, Kristian and his words of wisdom, and Toni's "Wa hoo"s, and my first sushi experience - yall made this championship THE BEST!

And to think, that was the second round of sushi....The first was ALL sashimi..ohh baby!!!!
