Tennessee Tree Climbing Championship

Seems like the TN Chain Gang lost it's weakest link in myself and a great competitor in BJ. I am really bummed about missing this. I am going to a better situation for myself and my family. I will miss working, training, and competing with Rob. Good luck to all in Memphis.

Just got off the phone with Rick Denbeau and he will absolutely be there to join the caravan from Louisville. Unfortunately Greg Manning will not be able to attend but we will certainly see him in Michigan. He claims that it is a family matter keeping him from the event, but he did suffer through 8 hours of my music selections on a recent trip to Chicago, surely that has nothing to do with his decision???????

Update on Tennessee Tree Climbing Championship
RE: climbers based out of Tennessee will be climbing for cash / First place $1000.00 Second place $500.00 and Third place gets $250.00 along with the normal pay the winners way to the southern chapter comp plus like pancake stated a bunch of cool prizes including a new Husky and Stihl saw, gloves safety glasses and more!

I think Friday morning for the KY crew sounds better- Sounds like we're competing if there's room in the comp- and if all the judges positions have been filled.

PS. Cory wants to sign up as the second throwline tech.

Chris decided late last night that he wasn't up to the challenge of competing in TN, so he is going to try and find a job that suits his abilities better...

Any slots available for score sheet runners?

Come on Chris I havent climbed very much in months.I want you to stink it up with me(misery loves company).Running bids is rough stuff(on the gut or size increase of late).Got a new tree Motion maybe climbed in it 3 times. How about you Cory you gonna compete? If Chris is not gonna go at it he can be my gear caddie.

They're both going to compete...I was told.. I'm setting up and helping wherever needed. I'll caddie your gear, some stuff may come up missing though.

The more I read the more I miss it. I love seeing all of the buzzers making a statement, dream come true. I wish you all the best in Memphis, thanks for the participation.

Yeah Roger everytime I leave my gear with my crew things come up missing. Also throw lines tend to get tangled-hum.We gonna miss u Keith, but you gotta do whats best for your family.

We will be hitting the road at 1:30 a.m. sharp in order to get to Tenn. in time to get some grits and biscuits prior to set up. Can't wait to see everyone.

***If you noticed that my ridiculously thick southern accent is missing its because this is your friendly neighborhood sushi fiend signed in under Rogers name : )***

What a time was had by us folks from Fl. We met some new, we seen some old, and we missed some who could not make it. All of our tree climbing friends thank you.
Sorry we couldn't stay any longer and didn't want to sneak out but it was getting late.
What I want to say the most is the spirit you all had with each other all day long, cheering, telling others what was going on. The way you all stayed in a very professional manner and still banter with each other was awesome. That is why I come to the TCC's that I can is for thease reasons. So once more thank you to all for a wonderful weekend. See everyone in Ky.
Great job to all and congrats to Ben,
Be safe be happy Scotty

I had a great time in Tenn.! Thanks to Wes and his wife, Scotty, Roger, Rich, Rick and everyone else who helped with the competition. I hadn't competed in awhile, and I had a great time with everyone. I liked the laid back atmosphere. It was nice to see Ben P. and his family again, Crazy Jimmy, Chinda, Abrahm, and Lindsey, Collin, Gabe and several others. Next time, everyone has to plan to stay over the night of the competition. Cory was itchin' to party. Yeah! Ta-dow! TJ took some pics, Cory will probably post some.
