So. Chapter - Shreveport, LA 2009

Boo-Ya!

Headed out toward Shreveport tomorrow..... Packing up plenty of beef jerky and tang in gallon jugs.

Everyone travel safe and I will see you all in Louisiana!

Stopped outside of Atlanta to visit with my college buddy the Hound-Dog.

A person with an vivid imagination can probably guess why he was tagged with that nickname.

The Hound-Dog now has three boys, a beautiful wife, and a big house.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Karma has just been proven irrelevant.

I am sorry that I am missing this - the best (next to CAA) in that area (next to Kentucky and Caa and next to Florida)

Well you get the idea

ENJOY all

Travel safe
take lot of photos
get lots of hugs and all that friendship

Best to the competitors - stand tall to the Judges

The trees are all set up.

Many farmer's tans were inflicted upon unsuspecting arborists as the day wore on.

I've got a killer crew of judges and techs.

Head Judges:

Work Climb- Bob Bergin.....Florida Chapter

Aerial Rescue - Guy LeBlanc ...TX Chapter

Throwline - Scotty Olson .... Florida Chapter

Footlock - Tom Dunlap .... ummm, TX Chapter maybe?

Belayed Speed - Kieth Babberny ... TX Chapter

Obviously, Texas has come through in a big way to support what we are trying to do here, and the success of this event will be a result of the lone star state's contributions.

But I have to say, the MVP of today's set up is Crazy Jimmy. Homeboy set up the work climb solo (a giant Pecan), and in the afternoon shot up the throwline tree.

The world would be a better place if more people were like Jimmy. My hat goes off to him for his work ethic, and his positive attitude.

The meetings went well, hardly anyone questioned my authority.

Veterans park will be abuzz with activity by 6:30am tomorrow morning.

By 6pm, we will all know who is going to be representing the Southern Chapter this year in Rhode Island.

OK, I have to talk about the elephant in the room.....

There is a cheerleading competition running the same time as this TCC and the general conference.

Who else out there thinks it is a bad idea to mix tree guys with underage cheerleaders?

Glaring cheerleader's fathers everywhere. Scotty says as a father of a 9 year old daughter, he is very upset at his friends for their commentary on the situation.

Simon is just wondering "what if they were all 18?"(he hopes)

Well, I say it's just not right. It just not right.

Better get some shut eye.
