Show off them splices

Yup. What @Brocky said. There is a link for a PDF through gappower.com website if you search those terms. That is exactly what I used.

The fact that the cover doesn't bury is a bit weird but the end result looks good.

I think the splife is the up to date preferred method now.

The Tech cord was to see if it could be done, it would be too stiff to use as a hitch cord, a baggy cover would weaken the splices.

Splicing sure comes in handy! I broke the plastic piece that keeps the lid and bottle connected on my Nalgene bottle because I have a bad habit of twirling it around my finger even when it is full. Dynaglide makes for a nice replacement and the color even matched! Double locking brummel and tail bury on the bottle side and just a double fisherman's loop on the lid side. The splice on the bottle side is just loose enough to allow the line to rotate around the neck as you twist it off.

Looks good!

What’s the plan for that? Curious how folks use spliced rigging lines.
This is a 44' piece that I plan to use to tie off a large storm-damaged Hickory limb that is hanging by a thread. The limb is like 30' long and about 8" diameter at the trunk where it's broken. I'm going to tie the whole limb to the trunk and then set up separate rigging to piece it down from the bottom up. I thought I may use my slic pin shackle(which is way overkill for this) but really just wanted to try splicing a line I haven't spliced before.
