Sena headsets.

I have also found that the individual headsets need to "tap in". If the hub does it, it messes things up and can be difficult to get everyone back (this is using the three sets).

Mert, I think your issue with the 4 systems not working flawlessly together is that those 4 sets don't stay together. If you have two and they are paired, and then you add two more from other crews the other crews sets will remember who they paired with last. So if your contract climber was working with another crew 2 days ago, then his system will need to be re-programed into yours. That means all 4 helmets that your using that day will need to go through Nicks process.
I have had the helmets for 3 years now and always had a problem with them. We run a 4 man crew so it was always a HUGE hassle to get everyone connected. I took the time one snowy day and did Nicks process, and it has worked flawless for us. Now, the chipper operator can chime in and out without interrupting the other users.
I would suggest you get just two more batteries. Label them, and then pair them when you haves your 4 man crew. Once those members who are not with you all the time leave, you can take your batteries back, store them in a safe place until you use those guys, or any guys who have the senas again. Just replace their batteries with the ones you have already programed to your crew....I hope this all makes sense.

I should of mentioned that earlier as well, thanks for that reminder to others, label them on the inside with a sharpie because often they change helmets depending on the jobs we do.

Thanks Royce makes perfect sense. I'm planning on ordering two more sets when I can count on the weather allowing me to get my work done. It's terrible right now freezes up at night and by 9 it thaws out and makes slop!

Nice story. We gave the 10r's it's first test this Saturday on a fairly large maple over a deck and side of house. Lots of big wood. A bunch of it was able to just bomb down, but there was a little bit of rigging. The ability to just talk normal and not have a lot of the "what?", "huh?" Crap and yelling and repeated talking and slowing down definitely contributed to taking that tree down faster.
There was one moment of stupidity on my part. One of the 2 sections of brush that we actually had to rig down, got hung up in a crotch about 18' off the ground, and we'll below me, I was trying to pull up on one leg of the rigging line to help free it. Well it went. And fast, pulled my index finger sideways in to the blocks sideplates. I swore my finger was going to break. I couldn't pull down to free it, but I was able to calmly tell my ground man what to do to relieve pressure on the load, despite it being too high for him to reach, and freed my hand with only a couple big dents in my finger, I got lucky, I shouldn't have had my hand on that side of the block, but with the sound of the chipper, he probably never would have heard me if not for the SENA.

Wow, another great story, @Raven27. Sena should start gathering these stories up as testimonials for their product. First time user possibly prevented from losing a digit because of the use of Sena headsets! I'm beginning to wonder if any lives have been saved by the Sena headsets, and if so, how many? Endorsements don't get any better than this.

I've thought about the times I may get to tell a ground guy that my ripe is in the brush he's taking to the chipper. Lol. I shouldn't have had my hand in a position to get pulled in, kind of had to try something, I could have gone all the way down and freed it, then come back up. Many factors, I was getting sick, we were close to done with rigging stuff and it was going to start coming down pretty quick, I guess I was just rushed or trying to save some time because the job was already flying by. Big Maple and still had it down in under 4 hours, thanks to a lot of bombing. Lol

I always have the chipper op join in last. That way nobody is linked through him.

Just looked up the 10r. That looks super sexy. And like I can mount it inside my helmet to avoid any sort of snags.
My smh 10 haz taken one fall. I lucked out and it only got a little crack because every branch on the tree broke its fall before it launched sideways and narrowly missed the concrete porch.

Guess that's why Treestuff had the smh10 on sale. I love mine. Can't use it at work but have it install on my photos I use for side work. Was easy to install and had minimal mods to the earmuffs for the wires. Took a saw file to the housing to run the (very soft) wire through.
Still need to figure out a potential better option for the excess wire. For now being lightly wrapped on the browband seems to work. image.webpimage.webpimage.webp

The excess wire for the one ear? I just coiled it up inside that earmuff. The foam seems to have enough compression to keep it in check. I haven't had to take mine apart to readjust since I installed it. That was just after the expo in 2015

That's a sharp hat. Imagine how sexy it would be with a 10r on it.
