RopeTek Helmet Intercom System

My guy had his battery go dead on fri. Sure felt funny without them.

We get so many compliments on how the operation runs. Just two of us, moving like a lubed machine. Hammering through work.

Just for clarity to those who have yet to buy them, they charge with a normal micro-usb, and so are easy to charge in the truck. Having an extra helmet on board can allow the uncharged unit to go to the truck. Original charge is supposed to take 2.5 hours, IIRC, which has been about what amount I've charged them after a day of use. There is a battery level check, and the light changes from red to blue when fully charged.

4 plus a phone call.

I was turned away from the peltors by a reputable dealer. Picked up the senas at the expo after checking out all the other booths. They are amazing a and in most cases, less than half the cost of other units.

[/ QUOTE ]yep me too! Bought 3 from Paul and a hitchhiker! Been playing with them in the hotel with my kids! Last day today here! Tennarbor you going to xmans crane seminar this morning?

To bonner...you using this in tap to talk or vox? We were busy today but when i turned them on...my vox setting seemed to be weird...picking up something other than talk in the crane cab... tap to talk seem to work better? I had to pair the intercoms after i charged them...unexpected but easy. Thoughts? Just didnt have time to get together today but love the cost and simplicity. Are these things waterproof? It rains in ohio. I thought they were but not seeing anything that supports it. That would be a bummer. Love the zip tie with two zip ties to help the problematic velcro...thanks paul!

Crane Guy.

All Tap to talk. I have heard the voice activated gets hit by the chipper auto feed etc. The tap to talk works for my purposes.

Here is my opinion on the system. 2 days...with a bit of rain...2 intercoms... 2 silver maples.... in the backyards...reaching over the house blind...(my perspective)...they are paid for already with the extra work we were able to do. Paul i want to hug you. Off all the systems ive tried i love this one the most. they friggin rock and are very easy to use. Want more.

You guys are using these in a tap to talk mode? We are working with just an open channel. I don't even think it is voice activated but I'm probably wrong.

I would think that it would be a hassle to reach behind your head any time you want to speak.

I don't know if we were just in a groove this week or what but working with these units, we were able to finish every job ahead of schedule. We knocked out half of what I bid as a two day job, in four hours on friday afternoon. I don't think you can calculate all of the time you save being able to communicate ANY time you need to, instead of only when the machines or your proximity to the other person will allow it.

I've been shopping communication systems for about six months now and I am happy that I didn't settle with another system before I found out about these.

I have ours on vox but we prettty much just keep them on all the time anyway. Easier then blowing into the mic or tapping the button...ill shut it off if i have to talk to someone else...so there is no confusion...all in all very happy. Waterproof i hope?

Hey guys, thanks for the kind reviews even though I deserve no praise as it was DMC who turned me on to them and I don't make anything, just put them together. The only reason I started to sell these is that I think they freakin rock!! Been using them for 2 years myself with no issues. They are SO cheap in the grand scheme of things its a no-brainer IMO. I sell them for what you can buy the components for at the cheapest retail price and assemble them to make them a turn key deal.

Im glad you guys like them as much as I do, Thanks DMC!
