I can't for the life of me figure out how to properly tie one of those little Michoacán's... even after my bro has shown me many times I just can not commit it to memory.

Reed, does your knot stay nice and compact like that when you load it or does it stretch out a fair bit?

It extends maybe an inch more than shown, never comes close to the wrench though. I don't need a compact system because I have an adjustable bridge.
@Levi.CO, it ties like a Blakes but only tucks under one wrap, rather then the 2 over two of a split tail.

The CT pulley is the easiest one to fit inside an oval carabiner with the hitch cord and tether. Probably the best one for this, but if you use an HMS carabiner, the ISC pulley fits fine. Wish I had better pics on hand of the CT pulley, but these two are all I have at the moment.

Here it is with a cheapo cmi micro pullie I had. I am still in this constant pursuit of smoothness and symmetry tho. Why can't my SRT system be as clean as a hitch climber system?

Jeff, that is exactly what I am looking for.
I think I still need a shorter teather tho, my wrench doesn't grab when I first sit down after an ascent. The hitch grabs first, and way too tight, sence the wrench haven't absorbed anything yet. Once I climb it isn't an issue.

These setups look nice but do you guys ever take em on and off the rope while climbing? If so isn't a pain in the arse? That's the idea behind the setup I'm trying to dial in, I miss the wrench but the bdb just makes life so easy... I should probably just stick with that and get to work.

I don't find the on and off of the rope. It is practically the same as the hitch climber setup, just 1 less rope.

You are talking about tieing and untieing the hitch right? It is just the same as a standard hitch, easier then the VT too, it keeps itself tied while you grab the hardware.

I get it. But say you want to take it off during your climb, there's a lot of things to juggle and drop. Although with your setup I guess it wouldn't be too hard to leave everything clipped to the biner as you cleared a redirect or something, granted you can tie your hitch with only one free eye.

I don't ever take the device off the rope anymore. Ponytails and retrievable redirects make it that much easier.

You crazy man... we gotta climb together one of these days. I take the bdb off many times throughout the average climb and use almost exclusively natural redirects. Perhaps I'm just a caveman, your world frightens and confuses me

Blue is good, too...

I install the anchor from the ground, and don't take the RW setup on/off the rope, either. But, I don't use natural redirects. It would definitely be a major pain in the butt to take it on and off during the climb.

That's exactly what it is... with the rope attached to a Rock Exotica shackle swivel, on this one. I can pull the pin on the swivel's shackle and put a pulley in there, and use it with a MRT (DdRT) setup, too, with a pulley at the TIP. Can still install and retrieve it from the ground.
