rope runner

Jeeps are cool but old jeeps. I'll keep my dodge though. Killed 3 wild boar in Texas last week. Waffles are my favorite.

Never hunted boar. Is it fun?
They just recently prohibited hunting them here on WMAs. Something about trying not to scare and scatter them so that they can kill whole herds with smart feeders that will only release poison when there are pigs.
Herd? Is that the right word for a group of pigs?

Hey Steve you forgot to tell us your favorite color.

Have you decided on a name yet JontreeHI? Looking at your picture, I wonder if you rotated your hitch 180 degrees, as a couple others have posted, it might help with the rubbing on the tether.
Could you explain about the top wrap comment above more? Thanks

Is that a jug of bar oil? Nice. Pigs are so fun to hunt or really it's not hunting just shooting.

With 40 or so pages in this thread this may already have been covered, Sterling Scion 11.5 is an excellent match for the runner. I set up a demo at a local arborist supply, new runner, new line, set the bird adjustment wide open, runs sweet, soft release, all good.

I wonder what the differences are between scion and tendril. My runner works well on tendril, I like how round it stays with the second core. My biggest issue was how bouncy it was with the nylon core Switched to yale 11.7 and haven't looked back.
I would like to see sterling make an all poly double braid climbline.

No but I ate at an awesome restaurant in Newport RI by the same name. It was in an old auto garage. Super cool. Still had the roll up doors for the front.
Speaking old Newport, since you brought it up, had an old 70's something ? Chrysler Newport once as a winter beater, could almost fit the whole hockey team in it! Lol ok back to the rope runner thread, brought back memories from the good old days ! Lol

Sterling says Scion has 2% elongation at 540 lbs, Tachyon is 2.2%, Yale 11.7 double braid 1.4%. I'm probably the only one that doesn't mind the 2.2% on Tachyon so 2% For Scion is very acceptable for me. The Yale 11.7s are great with the runner as everyone knows, the part I don't like is how much it flattens with the runner, tougher to grip than the Scion which stays more round. Tachyon doesn't work with the runner, stays too round and firm. The elongation numbers are mostly apples and oranges as measuring methodology seems different per rope manufacturer, maybe some one else can translate to equivalencies.
