Rope Runner

I have been running mine since the first batch was released. There was a leaning curve at first but I always climb with the RR now. I will be at the TreeStuff JAMBO helping out kevin. RR is one heck of a device.

Thanks Chris. I just bought the one off Rockettree and can't wait to get it. I have several lines but Vortex is my favorite so I am hoping it plays nice with the RR.

PI is a great line for the rope runner.....monkey love you will not be disappointed....consider yourself lucky that you scored one.....

So I ran the 1/2" Vortex Sat on the RR, but personally didn't care for it. Flattened the line out a little more than I would have liked, which made releasing the Bird a little too jumpy for my taste.

I will also be trying 1/2" KMIII and Yale Kernmaster later this week and I'll let you guys know how those run on the RR. Haven't been able to find any Sterling that works well with it yet either.

Thanks Chris, I personally find that to be true with the RW-Vortex combo also. When my RR arrives I will give it ago myself but I am expecting to need a different rope for RR use. More goodies :)

I die looking forward to have one !
Except here we need EN standardization to be able to work with it.
I can't count how many times i hoped for this standardization, as much as New Tribe's sadless EN label. e_e

Runs fantastically on imori
Yes. Although Imori is a tad heavier than the Tachyon I often use, the RR is very happy on it. What amazes me is how much friction the random weave in the Imori jacket adds into the Bollard. When you're used to the release on a line with a tradition weave, the Imori makes you look twice (only at first) since the descent begins with more bird motion than "normal". This is also due to a the slight increase in diameter, but it only takes a couple moves before you forget the difference. I can't say enough about how much I enjoy flying the RR.

Got my RR today and spent about 3 hours with it. I can see the potential, but still need to work some more with it. I need to play with the movable bollard and see how that effects stuff. I know you guys all say how well it tends but that was actually my biggest problem. I must be doing something wrong or have something not quite tweeked in. I really like it though and as I said, I think it has huge potential. Nice job Kevin.

Just got the shipping notice for my RR. The next few days are going to go by SLOWLY!

I'll be trying it with NE Dragonfly (Fly), Yale Aztec (PI, BM) and Teufelberger Platinum 11.5mm.

I bothered Bingham so many times waiting for that thing. I am such an impatient ass. I hate the mail. Need one of those Star Trek circles in my living room specifically for getting tree gear rapidly.

I saw this picture in the Jamboree thread. The Rope Runner is looking pretty slick nowadays. I look forward to getting my hands on one.rope runner.webp

Opened the bollard all the way and it was perfect for me on both my Vortex and my 12mm Donaghys NRG. Teathers well although I have some bridge length adjustments I need to make. Might try Yoyo's idea, I need it tighter than will fit over my hips and who wants to retie it every day. I included some pics of my Vortex/RR combo. I am hooked, it worked as well as has been described in here, a real pleasure to run. Nice job again Kevin.
