Ok, so this won't work on a smartphone. The interface on mobile says no shipping to Canuckistan, so it won't accept bids at all. But I went on my laptop to the listing, sent a message to the seller about shipping it here, the guy said sure. Then I made an offer of $50. The next day I got a message back saying it was accepted, and they had tacked on $33.57 for shipping. Which is fine by me. This will almost certainly get nailed at the border, as almost everything through UPS does, but it's still a killer deal. Maple Leaf Ropes sells these for $350 CAD...

Something weird happened in my case: they accepted my bid for $50, then the order was canceled, claiming some issue with my shipping address. Never had the issue with any other purchases on eBay…

Old Blue here arrived yesterday. Got dinged $40 by UPS for "brokerage". Total cost $158 CAD. Sells new at Maple Leaf Ropes for $350 +13% tax = $395. Didn't need it, but I couldn't pass it up at that price. Feels comically oversized compared to every other block I've ever owned. I love it. Treebuzz Bargain Mafia for the win...

Can't recall ever using mine for neg. rigging, but use it a lot when winching trees as a redirect. Makes a dandy snatch block.

Mine came in this week too. Big but not super heavy. The new ones are just so good, but this guy was too tempting. Damn buzz

I'm glad the deal worked out for so many folks! It's probably just as well they cancelled my own order; I spent the money on a Bend-right ring instead, which will surely get much more use. Already have a steel CMI 3/4 block that I use mostly for redirects anyway. But that blue sure is sexy looking!

Posted about my new block yesterday on Instagram and some guy sent me this:

Says an extreme shock load forced the cheek plates apart and sheared off the tiny captive pin that holds the spring lock closed. Says they were using 22mm rope (more than it's rated for) so the sling/strop might have been too big as well. Crazy...
