New to tree work

Gravity is your friend. Tree want go down!
Trees, when cut, always fall down. Except, of course, when my father cuts them. Then they fall on the house, or the fence, or they get so hung up in other trees they stay up until much work and cutting and yanking is done, and then they fall on the house, or fence, or whatever other desirable object is nearby.

Actually, I’ve only seen one hit a house, but I’ve seen quite a few fall over completely backwards in spite of the come-along attached to the half mile of 1/4” cable he uses for a pull line.

Rule number 1: gravity works and it is always on.
Rule number 2: some people ought not be allowed to have sharp tools.
Rule number 3: stay away from the sharp parts of sharp tools or you will bleed or fall down hard.
Rule number 4: it is not the fall that hurts, it is the sudden stop.

Seriously, good luck in your new endeavour and never stop learning new things.

If there are enough vines in the tree, getting things to go down will in fact be the problem. Who the fuck turned off gravity! (Slashes at vines)
