Picked up a new mini today. Vermeer S725tx. Pretty much the same as my Vermeer s600tx but lots of improvements. The biggest is the track system. Used it today some and seems to be a nice unit.

My Vermeer guy said it is basically the same body as the 800tx, just different inners and tracks.

I pictured the lift being higher...especially compared to the 600.

Keeping the 600tx?

The lift is quite a bit higher. Don't let the different attachments throw you off. (look at the attachment pins to get a good idea)
Its very comparable to the s800tx i believe. They really have fixed lots of the complaints I would make about the 600. I haven't spent a lot of time on it yet so I don't have a lot of feedback. I'll post some more video or photos as we get some use on it.

I've looked it over a few times, and I definitely agree it appears they fixed some things...most noticeably the track system. 3 things I'd like to see yet: lights, horn, and a rear receiver hitch. I plan on adding a hitch to mine. I had a temporary one on, and liked it. .

My only complaint about the 725tx, is it is longer....and will stick out on my truck/setup (if grapple is attached ).

I'll add my own horn as I really do want a good loud one on it. . We don't need lights on it. I could always plug one in the 12v cigarette lighter if I wanted. I don't see how a rear receiver hitch would be good for this machine. We don't tow things with it.

As far as it being longer I think the length of the machine is why it lifts higher. I don't really need a higher lift height myself so this is indifferent to me. I haven't tried fitting it in the dump trailer with my grinder yet. I think it should fit fine, just a bit more snug than before. Climbhigh, do you see yourself adding a truck to your setup in the future? I like the all in one setup, but I feel like you'll outgrow that setup before too long. It sounds like you've been very busy the last few years.

I used to do the cigarette lighter thing, then said screw it and just mounted one.

The rear receiver I would use to pull a lawn roller, or an atv log trailer, or for another guy to stand on for big logs.

I luv the all in one setup, and doubt I'll every not have it. We been kicking around ideas on how to grow, and get jobs done faster...since early spring last year we been running 3 months out (and not getting to some of our regular big customers fast enough). Booking mid May right now.

It is just me and one employee, so we are probably going to add another employee this spring. Which will give me more time to do stumps, air spading, etc. This employee may be the start of a second full crew, with all their own gear but just a smaller setup for trimming, as one option. The second option, and more liking, is investing into a knuckleboom to speed up jobs...setup kinda like xman.

Vermeer S725tx update. We put 4 hours on the meter since monday's delivery of the brand new machine. Looked at the machine in the trailer only to notice it was now accompanied by a pool of hydraulic fluid. Too disgusted to even investigate the source of the leak.

You got to be kidding, after all the hydraulics issues the 650tx had, this is one thing they should have made sure of.

Bolts connecting the hydraulic pump to the bell housing coming loose. Also the bolts on other side of pump (towards front of machine)

How bad does the engine shakes at lowest idle? I don't fully idle ours due to the vibration, shakes bolts loose and broke the negative cable twice.

It doesn't shake at all. The new tier 4 kubota is a 4 cylinder diesel now. It idles quietly and even full rev is pretty quiet. A huge plus is it starts really well in the cold. the 3 cylinder kubota on the 600 is a hard one to start in the cold.

We had the bolts come loose 2-3 times on the 600. I think the new one has an additional pump also. Much less drain on the motor to actuate the accessory cylinder.

That sucks. There aren't many things more infuriating than a brand new machine that can't do what it was supposedly designed to do. Especially if the hydraulic issue is one they should have learned to fix from the older models.

Hope it was just a loose hose or something. Good luck.
