Dude...definitely not enough gvw. I put a 5 ton kboom on a c6500 26 gvw, left me with 9k capacity. Got annoying real quick

Speaking of chip trucks,Free to a good home tail gate off a 14' Arbortech body I bought truck new and had it ordered with dual tailgates for my bandit 1850xp. Didn't use it and trucks long gone been in shed for years gotta go. Pm if interested.

Have a rake made and your bucket will collect rust. I have a local guy one man show custom makes them and mini thumbs ships world wide his stuffs indestructible so far. He custom made this for me.

Custom made 72" high southco they list 66" they said no at first but gave in glad they did 66" way to small for a tree service.

11'6 long 96" wide 72" high first body was 66' no good if you have a big chipper.

I run a 3 man crew which Includes me truck holds a lot and chipper has wide feed fills up fast on big pine and willow jobs but normal jobs lasts all day. Had f650 since oct haven't even chipped into it yet.

Thanks as long as you stay at 72' high on a f550 they hold a ton of chips for a small truck and 4x4 is nice too.

I'm going to put an actual tailgate in it, kind of like a tandem, but with a center door to use with the chipper or to set chunks in with the mini.
Crude Dwg, I know.
I can't decide how I want to do the top: suggestions?
I'd hate having a liitle hole in the middle. I chip with the chipper turned a lil all the time and the chute needs to be right up against the side.

Back to your earlier question,
The V-10 I had in a 550 service truck was always in the shop for this or that: it was a 2005, & the time frame in speaking of was 2006-2007, with Less than 80k when I was issued the truck.
I would not recommend one unless it was a in a motor home type application.
My uncle has one in his motor home & has enjoyed it, but he compared it to a 454, so YMMV.
