Hey, something I've started using on the tighter double braids (like tachyon, bandit, or any used rope) is a climbing hitch. The distel with 8mm BL seems to work well. Lets you get a good grip on the outer braid without tearing up your hand. Use an e2e and a biner for the handle. Keep tension the eye (you can use a saddle as suggested) and just keep working it down a few times. Works better than I thought it would at first, and I still have skin left when I'm done.
