Hi,
I'm new here and just wanted to say hello. My name is Mike and have been fascinated with arboriculture & tree work for quite a few years now. Ive been meaning to join treebuzz for a while and have finely gotten round to it. Ive mostly been a groundie for various companies over the years but as of late, been climbing pretty consistently the last 8 months. Looking to start my own tree care business in the near future and am looking for any thoughts and advise on doing so, that anyone might care to offer. Love this place! Welcome! Yeah, go to Behind the Desk for the business stuff. As a start though, I'll say this, be a business person first and tree guy second. Build your business with a specific goal in mind. Price with an eye toward revenue and profit while providing sufficient funds to provide competitive wages and benefits for everyone, including yourself. Too often nobody calculates their own wages into the overhead and then make it very difficult to build it in later.
