I'm so sorry to hear about this. And, while I blame strumpet for most of the damage, I blame the Rep. Congress most of all. The only good news is that many of them won't be around after 2026.

Best of luck to your friend. I wonder if we could set up a fund here, should that become necessary.

Thanks JCB. My friends situation really points out just how precarious the safety net in America is for those in need. He has worked his ass off and payed his taxes for over 50 years yet here he is. Kicked to the fucking curb. Meanwhile Trump wants $1.5 trillion for next years defense budget and the rich continue to get a free fucking ride on the backs of the working class.

I'm sure word has filtered down that these guys can have carte blanche to do what they want and the DOJ will turn a blind eye. Pardons from Trump if it got as far as state conviction. Congress afraid of Trump getting them primaried, so they will act as feeble as Mike Johnson is in confronting him.

After the biggest strike in my generation (so far), they executed a white guy upstanding citizen who was helping a woman after being pepper sprayed, showing that even the most supposedly privileged class has no rights when they stand against a fascist government. They want us to be afraid, but it is backfiring, and now they are afraid - for a moment. They'll make some small concessions now - even my local R rep spoke out against this shooting - and the needle will move in the fascist direction somewhat more slowly than they would like.

I would prefer to see the full dismantling of the fascist branches of the government and a return to global economic cooperation so that eggs don't cost ten f*cking dollars a dozen and I don't have nightmares about ICE agents breaking into my home and stealing me away from my family because I support the rights awarded to us all in the constitution (life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness). They taught you to blame migrants, queers, black and brown people for their economic retardation / regression and lack of imaginative, effective leadership. Some of you like seeing these scapegoats get scapegoated but it ain't helping you when bad news at the doctor turns into a f*cking death sentence. It ain't helping you when the jobs aren't there, the rent is too damn high, and every storm turns into a multi billion dollar disaster to recover from. Those who have been at the wheel of government (and I include lots of Ds in that ledger) have sold us all out for a long time. If you've conceded to the cultural wars just remember we are all equal under god's eyes and all this noise is designed to divide you from your neighbors and family and make us forget our collective power.

Got some good new last night. My friend managed to procure a health insurance plan, so the surgery to remove his kidney should be happening in the next few weeks..

It’s coming out he had a broken rib from getting tackled by ice a week or few days prior. Personally I now question if he was specifically targeted before he was killed

I also have a chance to buy an opening night ticket for Springsteen‘s next tour.

Given the rarity of an item can set its value which ticket stub do you think is gonna be more valuable.

It looks like there may be 37 tickets sold for Mellon‘s movie. Bruce will sell thousands.
 
The gun rights people don't care that they shot Alex Pretti because he was armed. The free speech people don't care that they're arresting journalists. The state's rights people don't care that the federal government is trying to tell states how to run their elections and the small government people don't care that the federal government is trying to overreach into everything that we do, because none of those people ever actually cared about any of those issues. They just used them as shields for their own damn selfishness.
