Fu*%face Von Clownstick

Third, there should be some sort of recall mechanism within government. I know that is voting, but I'm talking between votes. Four years is a long time and some governments can go really off the rails (Trudeau up here for example). I don't know what that mechanism is or how it would be triggered. I just feel there should be something.
I like the idea of accountability as to what an entity promises and if that is realized in X time. Would mean they have to be much more specific in a plan before and early after election, and people keeping track of results vs beliefs and speeches.

Oh man, I would love it if they had to provide accurate bids with timetables for their plans. Automatic dismissal after the second missed deadline!

Not within the same government, maybe. From the Declaration of Independence-

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.”

Swipe left, swipe right? New tinder match?

We can do better. The richest man in the world, hopped up on ketamine cheering on the neo nazi party? And the 22 year old manbabies that make up his ace team of experts? Give me a fkin break. That crew probably doesn’t even know how to make a box of Annie’s noodles
That’s only because the instructions on the box are not efficient

less bad is a start. a lame start, but I'll concede that it is something. I am getting pretty sick of less bad though. We need real change in the right direction, and I worry that the existing system is too big for it's own good. Maybe this admin will finally destroy enough of it that we have no choice but to deal with the growing pains and start making those bigger changes. I am not looking forward to that idea, as I wanted to be better prepared in my personal infrastructure, but my neighbors have all told me that they have my back if it goes to shit.
Agreed, sick of the downward decline of ‘less bad’ this complacency is a large part of how we got here today. The less bad slid so far they shot everyone in the foot.

The electorate is pathetically disengaged as well. I volunteered registering voters this past election. Registration required declaring a party. I was shocked at the number of first time voters that asked “Which one is Trump?” “Which one is red?”

That's why I linked the article about plastic in the brain. Americans just aren't thinking clearly. I live in the most educated zip code in the USA and the general population here is confused about really basic shit, it's concerning. I'm a far cry from the brightest bulb in the box but I still try the keep my ear to the ground. As a group we seem to have outsourced our brain function to smartphones.
Dead on.

They get more and more disengaged as it becomes increasingly clear that none of the politicians they have heard of give even a squirt of shit about them. The ones that do get shut down by the DNC and RNC, and with the way the game is set up atm, if they don't let you play, you aren't in the game.

Honestly you have more faith in people. I see maybe 10% more voting if it was a true representation

Is that really how you like your propaganda, LOL!

Doesn't this kind of fly in the face of those pushing the "dictator" card?

Nice try Dave, but I believe its referred to as NEWS, and its actually happening..

And I find it rather amazing that the man (Musk) who has been feeding off the government tit for decades and currently has nearly $20 billion in government contracts (federal & taxpayer funds) is now in charge of slashing government spending..

No he's not. He has been tasked with auditing government spending which is under the directive of ; look but don't touch. I see a lot wringing of hands and people flat flipping out on things that 'could' happen, but not any talk from those
same people, about all the shit that this audit has already uncovered in just this one small branch of government. Why is that?

Levi, tell me, why is the news media the opposition? I actually remember when most news was simply stating the facts of something that happened. Today, everything is an editorial with direction, no matter how small or large the reported happening.

I believe people have become to dependent on expert advice and have lost their ability to self analyze anything at all.
