I am in no way suggesting the the dems should be trusted with our nations finances, but the notion that the republican party is somehow the party off fiscal responsibilityq is a joke. Instead of spending OUR money on social programs they choose to give all of OUR money away to folks like the military complex, corporations, the richest 1%, and war. Its hard to argue with their recent track record of leaving massive debt, deficits, and tattered economies in their wake.I'm an inherently "frugal" guy and can see merit in traditional republicanism, but the wackadoodle stuff of recent years is a real detraction from what could be. Honour,, character and credibility, where art thou?
Notice all the GOP leadership voted to keep him. Their majority in the House was more important than his criminal behavior. Says a lot about the Party of Law and Order and Family Values. An inch of progress.
Finally, the locks on George Santos office are changed.
Really! Like you to show me that data. You talk just like Trump. Make shit up as you go.Most of Congress are criminals who haven’t been convicted.

I think a huge part of the problem is that it costs an absolute fortune to run for office in this country, even at the local or state level. Air time costs thousands per second for campaign aids, printed stuff and mass mailings ditto. Right here locally even the candidates for county commissioner are shelling out four or five grand or more for glossy mailings, posters, etc. National level politics pretty much ensure any successful candidate is going to be a multi-millionaire. It is simply unreasonable to expect a person of relatively average income to run at that level only on donations. So we are always going to be stuck with extremely wealthy people at the top, and how can we expect them to have any idea of the realities of life at the bottom of the economic tree? Some actually try and some don't give a shyte but put on a good act, and not always clear which is which.I do miss the time when people didn’t just get angry and talk about Trump. I don’t need data to form an opinion. People think the Biden’s, Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham, and Bob Menendez are the only ones flying around the world enriching themselves and their families? They all do it. That’s how they own mansions and leave office with tens of millions of dollars. 90% of them are rotten.
How about we ban political advertising?I think a huge part of the problem is that it costs an absolute fortune to run for office in this country, even at the local or state level. That's a bit vague. And political speech is the most protected type of speech. Besides, how would you know what each candidate stands for? Especially a non-incumbent?How about we ban political advertising?
